We needed a short break from the City before school started and this turned out perfectly. The area is so beautiful, serene and peaceful. We enjoyed exploring the nearby beaches which for the most part, were deserted and icy cold although, addictive. One cannot get tired of the beautiful Atlantic sunrise and sunset against the mountain, which can be enjoyed from the porch. In Afrikaans, one would say "My siel het kom rus kry", which translates to "My soul came to find rest". The cottage is fitted with all necessities, it is beautifully and tastefully decorated and includes a beautiful novelty tin collection which adds to the homeliness. Our teenage daughter brought a friend along and the space comfortably housed 4 adults, with enough privacy for the girls. The area is safe enough for an early morning or midnight stroll and we felt safe enough to let our daughter go for her morning walk by herself. The hosts, Ina and Hans are two very special humans and they added to the appeal of St Helena Bay for us. We will definately be visiting often.

There is nothing to criticize about the venue itself or the hosts. Sadly though, we witnessed a person from another rental toss a cigarette butt from his vehicle when he drove past the cottage. That was of grave concern as the area is covered in fynbos which is dry now that it is summer and the wind was blowing quite a bit. In this day and age, there are sadly still those with little or no regard. I don't believe that the hosts can control the bahaviour of people in other rental properties. The incident was important to raise though.

We had an incredible stay at MaKarLi Blu! Ina and Hans are exceptional hosts – friendly, communicative, and attentive to every detail. The self-catering unit is perfectly located in the tranquil coastal town of St Helena Bay, offering stunning ocean views just 400m away. The stylish and well-equipped unit had everything we needed, including a cozy kitchen, DStv, and free Wi-Fi. The patio was our favorite spot to relax, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and take in breathtaking views. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a quiet getaway, we’ll definitely be back

How the tv is located in the lounge, we could not sit as a family and watch something together, how the tv is angled is quite awkward to watch.

Location was perfect with a beautiful view. Hosts were friendly and helpful. If the opportunity arise will certainly go back again.

Clean and comfortable.

At the time we went the road works along the road of the property caused a bit challenges. The community is locked in so walking becomes difficult especially as women. This forced us to do everything by car even though the beach was right in front of us. The beach was locked in by another closed community. Access is not controlled but strangers are asked to leave. This added to the risk of walking around and accessing the beach which we came for.
