The Granary

We loved the remote location of the property. Perfect for our trip down with homely comforts that a hotel couldn't provide. Clean and well presented property. Loved that this was an old granary!

Couldn't fault the property at all. Whilst I see many feedback about the roads in and out to the propert.. we went both ways.. we didn't find this to be an issue at all.

Lovely cosy place that was fully equipped with stunning views. The bottle of milk plus tea, coffee, cosmetics and cleaning materials were welcomed and helped me to travel light and not worry about basic things. The WI FI was also very good meaning I could work from here too!

For me it was probably location. Although it’s not far from the village centre of Braunton the time of year I stayed it was dark mornings and dark early evening. The one day I decided to walk (20 minutes) down to the village for a bite to eat and a few pints. The lanes are very dark with no lighting / footpath. In a car it is 5 minutes. TOP TIP - make sure you follow the owners directions of how to find the property and not the sat nav as it may take you up a tractor track!

The property was very well set out and comfortable. The host added some nice extra bits like milk in the fridge, a bowl of chocolates, fresh flowers and a choice of quality shower gels and shampoo. Its a very cosey little space with beautiful views and I found myself just peering out of the window with a cup of coffee several times. I would highly recommend the Granary.

The only thing I felt was lacking was the cooking equipment. The frying pan was a bit tired and the cooking utensils are all stainless steel so I didn't feel comfortable using them with non stick pans. That being said I was able to cook a few decent meals using what was there and there was plenty of pans, knives and other bits.

Great directions sent via the granary owner before traveling. It has Everything you need. The bed was super comfy. Just a little suggestion, the dogs had wet feet coming in from outside and I had nothing with me to wipe their feet. A little doggie towel would be handy to of had available as i didn’t think about it. A bigger mat inside would have been good also with this time of year to leave wet shoes to dry a little inside.

Great location. Perfect space for a couple. Would say it may be cramped for any more than 2 people. Facilities great. Smart TV with all streaming services available to log into.

If staying for 3+ days there is no access to a washer/dryer and only the towels provided at the start of the stay. Had to use to laundrette in the village just to wash the towels. Tip is to bring extra bath towels if staying longer than 3+ days.
