Pearl Gardens Midigama

Because it has recently opened the accommodation is in a very good state. The furniture is new and modern and the it was really clean. The property is not directly located to the street, so there were no noises during the night and they had a fence with a gate, which makes the atmosphere more safe and secure. The owners were really friendly and also provide laundry service. Even though the parents don‘t speak english well, they were always trying to help us with any matter that we came to them. There are some things I like to mention just because I know, that these people recently opened their home to guests they may not know some of the requirements that tourists expect when they travel. So this is just a friendly hint, because as mentioned before whenever we asked for something we were met with kindness and immediate action (so I guess some things they just didn‘t know). - activate the water boiler when guests arrive, because it is not reachable without any tools - make sure internet is working properly and provide the login details upon arrival - explain briefly what services can be booked and when they clean (only applicable for longer stays)

Our room unfortunately was not well measured before buying the bed, which didn‘t fit in the (as we assume regarded space) and hence was located somewhat in the middle of the room, with little space on the side. It didn‘t bother us too much, but maybe one day they will exchange the bed for a more fitting one. Also the internet wasn‘t working at, when we asked they booked another plan that lasted maybe a day but even that day it was very slow.

This is one of my favorit places to stay in Midigama. I felt so comfortable here. The room is great for solo travelers or couples. It´s a new building/rooms which shows. The room was great (quiet all day long) but especially the bathroom was great- sharp lines, hot water and just nice to be in. But the winner for me was the baclony. It was just perfect sitting out there relaxing, reading a book or whatever. You overlook the garden and it is far enough from the street. Breakfast tip: Try Piyaseeli´s coconut sambol, DAL and Rotis. That was some of the best Sri Lanka food I´ve ever had. The staff/family/owner: I must say I absolutely love Austin, Piyaseeli and the rest of the family. They were also a big part of the reason that I came back to Pearl Gardens. I really enjoyed sitting downstairs with them, talking and hanging out. They make you feel very welcome and are so sweet, funny and just nice to be around. They made my stay even better!

The room can at times be a little bit hot depending on the weather. But just open your entrance and balcony door and turn on the fan to release the air and you should be good. I slept very well every night with both doors closed and the fan turned on. You can also just leave the balcony door open during the night, that´s what my friends did. No crazy animals will come into your room and there is a mosquitonet covering the bed but I didn´t really have alot of mosquitos in my room.

Ostin and his family are wonderful hosts, available to help with everything we needed. This Homestay is a great location - far enough from the main road and train that it’s quiet, but close enough that it’s only a five minute walk to Lazy left and right surf breaks. Beautiful balcony area and lovely breakfast. We will definitely stay again!

Wonderful please, brand new with a excellent balcony! Totally clean, very good bathroom with hot water and everything you need! Also amazing people, totally helpful with everything! I wanted to stay 2 nights and ended up stay 2 weeks! 200m from Lazy for all the surfers is an amazing spot to stay!
