"Great village pub accomodation"

Classic village pub accommodation, friendly and helpful landlord. Comfortable rooms, peaceful location, big pub garden. Breakfast freshly made to order.

Unfortunately the pub was closed on the Monday we were there so we couldn't have the full Cowper's Oak experience.

"William Cowper hideout."

What a lovely village and what a discovery that this connected to the poet William Cowper. We enjoyed our brief stay in this little known area to us and did a lot of walking on the Cowper trail. The hotel was quiet, friendly. The room and facilities comfortable. Maybe not fully catering for the vegetarian, but breakfast was good. It seems to be a popular meat eating place - so a particular menu. We didn't book a meal but would have needed some alternatives if we had.

Clean, good size bathroom, well cooked breakfast

Early closing of bar and restaurant at 1930hrs. No where local to walk to for food. No air conditioning.
