Easy to get in, clean bed linen, adequate kitchen equipment, lovely views. The place was well heated and the furniture was comfortable.

The main problem was This is the message I sent the owners but received no reply. Hi Karen. We were glad of a warm place to stay over the weekend, but there were several problems I thought I should let you know about personally rather than online. We realised that you have mice in the place. We saw one adult and a youngster. They were in the kitchen & made us both concerned about everything we'd used in there, making dinner the night before. Linda's sleep was also disturbed on the Saturday night as she could hear one in her room. In the living room, the curtain rail for the front window is not secure and the blind doesn't work properly. The smell in the bathroom was really unpleasant. I could see surfaces were clean, but the bad drain smell could not even be covered by the heavy use of air-freshner by your cleaner. Not being able to use the extraction fan didn’t help and the 'stink pipes' being open into the bathroom was probably the cause. There was no point discussing any of this with you whilst we were there as most of these problems could not have been sorted out quickly.

Fairly quiet location. Comfortable beds

Microwave on top of fridge freezer - dangerously high / difficult to remove hot food. TV/Freesat combination difficult to use. Many fittings and fittings broken or tired - front lounge window curtain rail broken. Shower very stiff to use and broken. Mouse droppings all over the food surfaces each morning. No garden maintenance at rear of property - brambles coming through windows when open.

Great location with only a short drive to local beaches. It was really peaceful and quiet. The property had everything we needed, and was great value for 4 comfortable bedrooms. Having an enclosed garden was also really helpful with dogs

When we arrived there had obviously been a wasp nest so we kept being invaded for a few days. One of the radiators couldn’t be turned off. The WiFi seemed to stop working after a day or 2 aswell. These were very minor things and didn’t bother us.

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE OWNERS!! I BELIEVE THEY HAVE MORE THAN 1 PROPERTY ON BOOKING.COM. THEY ARE AWFUL PROPERTIES. I am writing this review as a last hope that the owners make contact with me. I am writing this to make a complaint and to request a refund on the stay that I booked with you via booking.com for Friday and Saturday, 11th & 12th July 2025. We booked this as we were attending a family wedding in the area and wanted somewhere for us as a family to be together as its rare that we get to do so. On arrival to the property, there was nobody there to meet us and nobody was answering the telephone number that had been provided on booking.com, which had stated ring on arrival. The property we were to stay in was to the side of a bungalow. The bungalow had items of clothing strewn all in front of it and a dog barking continuously through the windows. We knocked the door of the bungalow hopeful that someone would answer, but nobody did, so we went to the property that we believed was the property we were to stay at to see if there was a keysafe there for access. On entry into the garden, over a small hedge to the right, you could see the rear garden of the bungalow which was full of dog mess, a dumped duvet, a total mess in all honesty. The back door was wide open and dogs were continuously barking and running in and out. Within the side garden area of the property we were to stay at, there was a recycling box which had 2 empty bottles of wine within it, so this had not been emptied from a previous stay. We exited the garden to see if we could find someone across the road, as there were racing stables and a large detached house with a long drive to access. We entered into the racing stables and met a stables girl, who was so helpful.

It was rather tired the photos did not show a true picture as a minor comment the biscuits and hot chocolate were both past their sell by date

We loved the house and location, there was no toilet roll on arrival, as you can imagine after the long drive from manchester we were all desperate for toilet, luckily I had tissues in my bag, I'm sure this was just an oversight, apart from that it was perfect

Nice and warm.

I booked for wheelchair guest with suitable shower toilet, but shower was plinth style and had no facilities ( grip bars ). The toilet was too low and too close to the wall. The wheelchair had to be stored in the hall, because it couldn't be used in the narrow hallway or in the rooms. Bathroom showing its age. water damaged flooring in the bathroom and hall. Curtain poles still not fitted, window latches broken and glass beading missing even though reported years earlier in the guest book. No guest information about the cooker, heating, ventilation ect. Scrap of paper with poor instructions for the TV. No instructions for the Broadband Wi-Fi. The rear room windows could not be used for emergency escape because they were over gown with brambles up to the window.

Perfect base, had everything we needed and was comfortable with plenty of room. Very comfy beds. Really quiet location.
