Riad Piscine Palmeraie

The location was very ideal, only 20 to 30 mins walking distance from Medina. The property was located in a very safe residential area. I definitely felt safe with my family for being in Marrakech as a first timer. The property was good value for money, but we visited off season. The property was definitely big enough to host 4 adults and 2 kids.

While the property was great some of the basic necessities were missing such as hand soap, number of towels. Some of the things in the toilets were not fixed properly.

The location was in a safe-guarded neighborhood which has shops and restaurants.

Hot water for bath was a problem. Took over an hour to heat up which can last for less than 2 minutes. Our entire family suffered and some got sick because they need to bath with cold water. For a bath, hot water needs to run 5-6 minutes. WiFi was down most times during our stay. Only fixed late in our stay. Other essential items like toilet paper, hair dryer were not provided ahead of time. We took lots of time to communicate with the host. Host tried to put excuses to external companies which is not acceptable. If critical things like hot water and WiFi are missing, you cannot charge at full rate.

The person Who received us was kind, he answered all our questions, and he helped us to get a sim card. We checked-in at 2 am, as our flight was delayed. The house has a new laundry machine, a dishwasher and a stove. The Riad is inside a tourist residence which has several grocery stores, a pharmacy and restaurants.

All the house has a stinky smell from the toilets. Toilets need some renovations. We didn´t have enough towels for all us, and the ones we had were full of stains. My parents couldn´t stay in such conditions, they left after the first night(!) (our Christmas holidays were destroyed). Our kids were sleeping on the ground floor while some water was dripping onto their head from the ceiling ( which was from the toilets of the floor above. We had to put a bucket to collect the water. The terrace looks unkempt and untidy. There we found some dirty plastic chairs, a broken umbrella and a brokenbaby bath tube. The terrace has no views. The light in our bathroom didn´t work. we had to use the cell phone flashlight inside( which was very uncomfortable). The wifi in the Riad did not work stably. Also, there´s no T.V. We were charged a city tax as well as our children who are under 12. When I tried to dispute this they said that the exempt was olnly for children under 6 years old ( which doesn´t correspond to official information). I can´t recommend this Riad to those who are used to cleanliness and good conditions

Safe location in private estate, super friendly and helpful hosts, very spacious and climatic apartment

No toilette paper (that we had to buy), not enough bed sheets, the internet not working properly and 4 days without light in the living room. Dirty and in bad condition.

Excellent location in secure, comfortable surroundings away from the hustle of the Medina but close enough for a 30-minute walk to the main square. Use of the swimming pool is much needed during hot weather. Shops and cafes conveniently located inside this area.
