Jungle Nook Hiriketiya

Had a lovely stay at the Jungle Nook for 10 days. The room had strong AC + comfy beds (with mosquito nets) and rooms were cleaned every few days. The location is amazing, you are about a 2 minute walk from the beach and short walk to the main shops. The place comes with a shared kitchen (gas stove) + fridge which is handy for making your own meals. Vishwa was such an amazing host and always attentive to our needs, making sure we were happy and comfortable. Multiple times his family got us water and grocery supplies from the local market which was greatly appreciated. They even offered to take us to the local Poya festival which was very kind. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended for another 5 days. Thank you for the hospitality ! 🩵

The place was really nice and super well located. In less than five minutes you are at the beach. The owner of the place was the most sweet man, he was constantly asking if everything was good, changing our towels and giving us some fruit. Everything was clean ans they offer to clean per day too, but it wasn’t necessary. Amazing stay, 100% recommended !!

Amazing location and amazing place. The family running the place are very friendly, keen to help and fast responding. Everything felt very safe. Also, the place is close to many delicious cafees as well as the main beach! Room was clean, however the bathroom is a bit moist. But I guess that’s the terms of staying in the jungle!

Vishwa und seine Mutter sind super liebe Gastgeber, sie waren sehr bemüht, dass wir alles haben, was wir brauchen. Die Nähe zum Strand ist genial (2min zu Fuß, wenn überhaupt) und es gibt super Restaurants in der Umgebung. Das Zimmer ist sehr klein und etwas dunkel, aber die Klimaanlage ist super. Man hat auch eine Küche & Kühlschrank, die man sich mit einem zweiten Zimmer teilt. Aufgrund der Größe vom Zimmer wäre ein kleiner Schrank super, sonst wirkt es schnell unordentlich wenn zwei Leute die Rucksäcke auspacken.

Nice room, good service, great location and very kind people.

Jungle Nook in Hiriketiya is a simple, family-run homestay with just two rooms. It’s a cute little spot with potential, but very basic in terms of accommodation. The room and bathroom were both quite small, and it’s clear the place is still finding its feet. The location is good—nice and close to the beach and main areas—but the driveway could definitely use some attention. It’s a bit hard to spot where the homestay actually is, especially if you’re arriving for the first time. What really makes the stay is the lovely family that runs it. They were incredibly warm and accommodating, always happy to help or have a chat. There's also a shared fridge and a small cooking area, which is super handy if you're travelling on a budget or just want to prep your own meals now and then. A quiet and convenient place if you're after something no-frills and local, with some lovely hosts to make you feel at home.

A cosy nook tucked away very close to the beach and some delicious breakfast spots. The host is very kind and helpful. It rained the time we stayed here but we were so happy to be hidden away in such a nice place. Lots of windows, comfy bed and air con.

Maybe could have a signpost by the path so a bit easier to find

Sehr schöne Lage im Dschungel und nur wenige Meter vom Strand und einigen tollen Cafés, Bars und Restaurants entfernt. Das Zimmer selbst ist schön eingerichtet und man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Sehr lieber und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber.

Relativt nyt sted beliggende kun 1 minuts gang fra stranden. Der var dejlig rent, og sengen var virkelig behagelig med dejlig stort myggenet! Derudover var værten virkelig sød og imødekommende og hjalp, hvis vi havde spørgsmål. Kommer meget gerne igen, hvis jeg skal tilbage til Hirikitiya!

Der var desværre ingen varmt vand overhovedet. Det kunne der godt have stået i beskrivelsen, så vi var klar over dette. Men det gik alt sammen.
