"Every aspect tried to be exceptional but never hit that bar. That said it was very very good."

Room was simple, mostly clean, had a nice private onsen. Meals were a nice experience and staff tried hard to provide great service. We enjoyed all the things that felt like relatively traditional Japanese foods and practices.

Room and onsen could definitely be cleaner, back yard the onsen views is a weed-filled mess. Food tried to be 3 Michelin star in presentation but definitely wasn't there in terms of quality, though it was good.

Hakone Nica was a perfect place for us to end off our Japan trip. The space was stunning and we loved everything the hotel had to offer. They absolutely spoiled us and make sure all our needs were met. We will definitely be back.
