We loved the food and the friendly staff.

Checking in. Other resorts will allow to check in early once the rooms are available. Soltititue did not allow even though we knew the rooms were available. Hope they re-visit this policy.

"Perfect getaway"

The warm pool, friendly helpful staff, great food, beautiful room, hot water and high pressure in the shower, the dive gear rinse that smells like downy.

"Long term stay customers - beware."

8.0

The staff were all great and the dive shop, boats and diving were all thoroughly enjoyable. The food at the restaurant was very good and plentiful. Let me first say that we had a good time at Solitude but there were a few issues I would like to address. The first being that on our tour of the property, as we were a ‘long stay’ package, I asked the question if alcohol was part of our 20% discount. I was told to check with the Manager which I did. I was told by Alphi that the long term stay privileges only apply to customers that booked directly with Solitude. I explained that I had booked with booking.com as I wanted to make sure that I could get the entire month as it was available and it took some time booking with Solitude because of the time difference. He then asked me how long I was staying and how many dives we were doing. Then when I told him we were staying a month and doing at least 96 dives he said he would check and get back to me the next day. This was not the welcome I expected especially when we had booked months in advance and ample opportunity in e.mails to explain the policy of a third party booking. They did honour the 20% but had I not brought up the issue we would not have known until we checked out and then it would not have been a pleasant experience arguing the situation before leaving. This should be made VERY CLEAR on their website that the 20% only applies if you book directly with Solitude. My preference would have been for Alphi to check my e.mails and with his Manager first before approaching me. It would have been much more acceptable had he come to me and explained the policy but we have decided to extend the 20% to you.

We booked the Sea View Suite as we were there long term and did not want various people walking above us. The room was very nice but the sound proofing between the two rooms was non-existent. Being there over the Easter weekend we expected a lot of activity but unfortunately we had a family that obviously loves gaming well into the wee hours of the morning. Even when there was just a couple you could hear them talking. The last and final issue was 'music'. The restaurant had a satellite feed of ‘generic music’ and in the afternoon the bar also played the same thing. While trying to enjoy the view and relax on my lovely large balcony in the afternoons all I could hear was the bottom end tick, tick, tick of whatever was playing. After a few days I talked to Lilibeth and asked her if she could change the feed and play real music. Her answer was they would turn it down and I tried to explain that turning it down would not solve the problem - could you just play something else that everyone can enjoy. Unfortunately it was just turned down but I could still hear the bottom end boom, boom, boom which was a shame as there are thousands of channels that play really good tunes. It meant that after a while I would retreat to the inside of my room. This was also the reason we did not spend much time in the restaurant and had most of our meals in our room. I realize in this day and age that most people are zoned out and concentrating on their phones and/or laptops but I am old school and enjoy just relaxing without all these devices - that’s why I go on vacation!

"Great ocean view but terrible bed."

5.0

The ocean view

The bed was uncomfortable and squeaky. The bed is two singles merged to one, not an actual king of queen bed.

"It was a nice little break from all the busy work."

8.0

I like the location. It’s my first time in this part of Batangas, and I’m glad we booked our stay here. The staff are friendly, the place is generally clean, and the food is decent—though there’s room for improvement. For example, the noodles were a bit salty. On the positive side, I appreciate the flexibility in accommodating changes to orders, like swapping rice for quinoa. That kind of attentiveness makes the experience more enjoyable.
