Real Hostel

Location was great, right at the beach a short walk away from the main pier of the island. The room was simple but nice with a big window overlooking the ocean.

The room was not clean when we arrived as the floor was covered in dead bugs. Staff offered to clean the room but left large parts of the room dirty. A trash bag from previous guests was left outside the room for 2 days. Electricity cuts were frequent. Internet did not work for a couple of days and the issue was fixed by staff after we asked twice. On the last day, there was no water in the bathroom. We asked staff to fix the issue but they did not by checkout time. While insects and electricity/water/internet cuts are totally understandable in such a remote location, 40 US dollars per night in Koh Rong are definitely not worth it.

The staff was friendly and the location is great.

No sink in the bathroom in the private room.

The bungalow is clean, modern and pretty with good working air-conditioning. Close to the sea, but still quiet at nights (mostly, not on Saturday nigjt, but it's okay). The restaurant and the convenience store are also very good, connecting to the property.

The mosquito situation, but it's not the fault of the property. TIP: buy a smoking mosquito repellent, a mosquito coil, it works pretty good!

Big bungalows. Good WiFi. Very central and close to restaurants, bars , beach.

Loud music played through the loudspeakers at the reception/restaurant area until late night not taking into consideration that some guests want to go to bed and not Larry like the rest of the people in Khao Touch. During the booking hotel didn’t have the decency to inform me that there was a construction site right outside my bedroom window. Builders were working from 7am every single day of the week. I didn’t sleep for nine days. The bed linen are not washed with hot water or properly so they are full of stains like sweat stains and blood stains. There is a gap between the walls of the bathroom and bathroom ceiling, allowing mosquito to get inside. I was eaten alive every single night. The restaurant quality of the hotel is very low but this this the standard of the quality of the food on the entire island. There is loads of rubbish dumped by the staff around the bungalows or even under the bungalows such as old bed frames, massage beds, building site left over and other refuses.
