Casa Morada

Hard to find. Bad directions and signage. Owner sent me a message on WhatsApp the afternoon I was supposed to check in, stating that my reservation was canceled. There had been some sort of robbery and they closed the hotel. No call, no email, no notice to Booking.com. Just a text to WhatsApp. While I was busy taking 2 dusty buses and a taxi to get to the hotel. Which the taxi couldn't find. I ended up leaving town and staying in the hotel in Queretaro I was supposed visit the next day. I told the owner I suspected a scam and he eventually contacted Booking.com and they refunded my prepaid money. I later got an apology text, offering me free nights at the hotel. Yeah, like I'm ever going back to Bernal...

This was a wonderful property, located just steps from the heart of Bernal. The room was pleasant and comfortable and the common areas were exceptional. Staff members were so kind and helpful. A big bonus was the view of the Peña from the top floor of the hotel.

Casa Morada is a gem of a hotel. Everything was more than perfect. Fer was ourstanding and very helpful. There is a shop with home made marmalades, chocolates and spices and you can taste them before you buy. The room was beautiful and the view fantastic, towards the monolith. The hotel is beautifully decorated. Everything was near, restaurants, plaza, church. This is an amazing place and we cannot wait to come back next time.
