Amaya Kampot

My friends and I had an amazing one night stay at Amaya Homestay. From the moment we booked the accommodation, I was contacted by the Amaya team and provided with all the information needed to prepare for our stay. On the day of, we arrived at approximately 4pm and was greeted by Bong Sitha and his colleague who provided us welcome coconut drinks. Upon entering our accommodation, we were in awe by the space, design and the architecture of the house. The house embraced an indoor-outdoor living concept which was rare to find in Cambodian modern architecture. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. All 3 bedrooms came with 2 en suite bathrooms and one detached bathroom. The kitchen was equipped with basic cooking essentials along with kitchenware such as pot, pans and a rice cooker. At night after dinner, we welcomed ourselves to a karaoke sesh as the property provided mics and speakers. Everyone had a blast! As all bedrooms faced east, we woke up to a beautiful sunrise that overlooks the pool. Waking up to catch the sunrise was a highlight. Overall, we had such a relaxing time and incredible experience soaking the beauty of the house.

A couple downsides of the accommodation was there were too many bugs during the night. So as soon as we finished dinner, we quickly moved into the living room which are air-conditioned and closed the glass doors. Another thing that we found out later during the night was some of the glass doors in the living room and bedrooms didn't have working locks. We did not express to the team as it was late in the night but we hope it can be fixed for future guests.
