Nothing at all. I loved it.

This is an idyllic place to stay...beautifully presented, private, well equipped....wanted to move in!!! Toasty warm, comfortable, loads of natural light, space outside, parking...could go on!!!

Nothing!!! It was about a 25 minute walk into York town centre, but that didn't bother us! We got to the property later on Friday evening than expected, so didn't go into the town centre then, but plenty of pubs/bars/eateries within a short stroll.

How tranquil it was, despite being near the main road! Very convenient for the City centre. Bus stop just across the road.

Great location if you're driving - far enough out that you don't have to fight the central traffic, but a bus stop right outside with regular service into the centre. Attractive property, and the balcony over the wildlife garden is a real plus. (I saw a fox cub playing while I sat outside for breakfast, which was pretty cool)

Wouldn't have minded a dishwasher. Bathroom a bit on the compact size. If I was there for a week then perhaps the place would start to feel a bit small, but just right for a weekend break.

Perfect location to be out of the way of the hustle and bustle and a nice walk to the city centre. Beautifully decorated and all suitable amenities. The bed is so comfortable, it was the best night’s sleep I’d had for a long time!

The lodge was very cold at times, particularly in the morning and last thing at night. The welcome pack details how to “turn up” the heat but the heating was set to eco meaning that it got no warmer than 17 degrees in the morning and 20 at night which felt really cold. The kitchen and dining area in particular were the coldest so we ended up getting into bed early on the first night we were there, due to being cold. I eventually figured out how to turn off the eco mode so we had a warmer evening on our last night thankfully. This should be detailed in the welcome pack. Furthermore, I was very disappointed to open to the over to cook breakfast to find that I needed to wash all of the baking trays before use. They were disgusting and covered in oil, obviously from a previous visit - but this was frustrating. Some other areas were also unclean such as the cutlery drawer. We actually cleaned everything we used before using it as all our cutlery was dirty. Also, there was an awful smell coming from the sink when running the water. It just felt like the place needed a decent cleaner.

Amazing location

Furnishing was nice, comfortable bed and lovely bath. TV and sofa was nice, internet access was good and the overall cleanliness of the place was great. The provided essentials were appreciated, although a dishwasher tablet and no dishwasher was amusing. Plenty of storage.

Some of the provided equipment wasn’t great, frying pan wasn’t non stick and too deep, salt shaker left empty, spatula looked melted and the parking left anything I walked in covered in a chalky residue, not to mention the parking spot is below trees and bird droppings were a nightmare the whole stay and got really frustrating.
