Casa Xadrez

A senhora Belinda é muito prestável e a casa é grande e está super bem equipada. Tem uma vista incrível da qual infelizmente não pudemos desfrutar muito porque o tempo não o permitia. Tínhamos uma criança de dois anos connosco que teve direito a uma mini caminha adorável. Gostámos muito da nossa estadia!

A casa é localizada numa rua apertada, o que faz com que o estacionamento não seja muito espaçoso.

Casa remodelada com gosto e equipada para dar resposta a todas as necessidades. Dispõe de Wi-Fi e serviço de televisão com um pacote de canais muito bom. Cozinha muito equipada e um miminho à chegada (bolachas, água, café dolce Gusto) Localização muito boa para quando quiser ficar na Povoação. A repetir sem dúvida se ficar na zona da ilha da povoação.

We had such a lovely stay at Casa Xadrez. I travelled with my parents and my fiancè and we had lots of space in this big house. You have one upper bedroom and one bedroom downstairs. The beds were very comfortable and we could sleep very well. The kitchen area was huge and had everything that you can wish for - big sink, oven, stove, sandwich maker, toaster, coffee machine, huge fridge and a freezer and loads of dishes, pans, pots, cutlery etc. The outdoor area is also very big and IF the sun comes out (unfortunately, during our stay the sun was hiding a lot ;)) you can make yourself cozy on the terrace or have a barbecue. We also could use the washing mashine and the dryer, which was perfect after staying there for one week.

Everything was good. You just have to know that the second bathroom with a toilet and shower is in another little house, right next to the main house (literally just one meter away) and there is also the washing room.

Großes Haus mit viel Platz. Herrliche Sitzplätze mit grandioser Aussicht auf der Terrasse. Grillplatz. Schön ländlich und ruhig. Insgesamt sehr angenehm.

La cama era muy blandita e incomoda. Está alejado del centro de la ciudad.

Óptima localização. Perfeito para uma escapadinha longe da confusão para apreciar a calma e a natureza. Fotografias são muito reais.

Os colchões das camas. Um extremamente mole.

Het is een zeer ruim opgezet huis voorzien van allerlei faciliteiten met een super zonnige en grote tuin in 3 lagen die gewoon ‘vlak’ zijn. Kers op de taart: uitzicht op zee en de prachtige groene bergen. Voorzien van zonnebedjes en picknicktafel! We hebben een dochter van 14 en zoontje van 5 en voor hem had ze speciaal een klein bed op de slaapkamer bijgeplaatst. Heel erg fijn! De airconditioning werkte heel goed, en we hebben dankbaar gebruik gemaakt van de wasmachine & droger omdat onze vorige accommodatie daar geen faciliteiten voor had. De host is zeer behulpzaam en reageert zeer snel op vragen! Check-in was super gemakkelijk met een locker met code welke je ruim op tijd ontvangt. Als we nog een keer terugkomen op Sao Miguel dan zouden we zéker nogmaals dit huis boeken!!

Very Disappointing Stay – Unfair Accusations We booked for 4 people (3 women, 1 man) and were completely honest about our group size when reserving. This can easily be verified by other hotels and rental companies we used during our trip. After checkout, the property sent us an unjustified €100 claim, accusing us of having more than 4 guests — without providing any video or other proof. This was absurd. Our sleeping arrangement was simple: two women shared one bedroom, the man had another bedroom, and the third woman used the sofa bed. At no point were we told that using the sofa bed was forbidden. The whole experience left us with a very negative impression of the place. On top of this, the room was damp and the location was only average. Would not recommend.

Great place, well run and clean. Lots of equipment. The view and quietness are marvellous! Very friendly conversation with Belinda, who even welcomed us with a selection of coffee capsules, biscuits, and local marmelade and tea. Additional comment: We forgot a stuffed animal and Belinda was so super kind to take the effort to drop it at the reception of a hotel in Ponta Delgada where we stayed a night two weeks later. This further underlines the exceptional rating!

We would recommend to occupy with maximum of 6 adults and a younger child. The extra bed was a bit small for our daughter (almost 12 yo). But there's a second sofa bed we could use, which solved this little challenge.
