Casa Xadrez

Het huis was heel ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Als je de oostkust van Sao Miguel wilt ontdekken is dit een goede uitvalsbasis in een klein dorpje.

De ligging is niet altijd even gunstig om naar de andere kant van het eiland te komen, dan moet je steeds dezelfde weg nemen. Daarnaast was het parkeren niet altijd even makkelijk. En wordt er nu nog verbouwd naast het huis.

Espaços verdes, conforto.

Velký dům na klidném místě s výhledem. Spousta místa, velká kuchyně. Pěkné posezení na zahradě, dostatek ručníků (na doma i na pláž).

Postele pro dva byly celkem úzké.

Logement spacieux et très agréable. La terrasse immense est un vrai plus et offre une vue paisible. Tres bien équipé rien de manque. Calme appréciable à 2 pas de Povoaçao.

The house was spacious, perfect for the three of us, though up to 6 people could be comfortably accommodated. We did not use the kitchen to cook, but it was well-appointed with an assortment of dishes, pots and pans, and small appliances that would be great for an extended stay, and there are a couple of grocery stores in town. The wifi worked well. Laundry facilities were great and there was detergent available. The location is very quiet. Bathrooms had lots of extra towels. The dehumidifier was helpful when it was rainy. The backyard patio area was excellent, though we did not spend much time out there. The view is so peaceful, you can see the ocean, a small valley, and the mountains all from the backyard. There is a cow next door and he is very cute. He moos and wags his tail (!) when you get home. The price is a good value for an entire house and would be great for families or remote work. The town square in Povoação is very cute with dining options and markets. The welcome snacks were a nice touch. Belinda was available to answer questions and had good communication. We had a very late arrival, but were able to check ourselves in with a lockbox, and to update Belinda via WhatsApp. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. I slept well on the beds, which is a small miracle since I have insomnia.

You will need a car to stay here, and parking is on the street - you will need to leave room for the bus to pass. There is not much within walking distance, but we were prepared to drive to activities. We would have loved to have a box fan to get more air circulation when it's warm. The location is in the country, so some bugs may enter the house (but it's a clean property, this is just the nature of being somewhere rural.)
