SAKWE Residence Kigali

The accommodation does not match the description. First of all, the address provided on Google and Booking is incorrect (far from the good location). Nobody informed us about this, which resulted in us spending 45 minutes going around the neighborhood trying to find the right place. Once we arrived, the disappointment only continued. While the room might look acceptable in the photos, the reality is very different: a broken window, damaged walls, a dirty shower, and overall poor cleanliness. The sheets and mattress were of very poor quality, making the stay quite uncomfortable. The bedrooms photos are misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the place. There is no sound insulation at all; you can hear everything from the street outside. It was also extremely hot inside the room, with no air conditioning and no way to get proper ventilation since there’s no real window to the outside. Finally, I was asked what time I wanted breakfast. I said 7:30 AM, which was refused because it was “too early.” Very poor service overall. Valence is the only positive point of the place. He tried to do his best and he is not responsible of the bad experience. In short: very disappointing experience.

The property looks exactly as pictured. It is clean and feels like home!

Nothing really there were just a couple of details that need to be checked but other than that 10/10

The ambiance and set up of this villa is exceptional. Valence the host at the property made exceptional breakfast. He is a gem and nothing is too hard for him.

Slow drainage in the bathroom.

The staff were incredibly warm and helpful throughout our stay, special thanks to Grace and Valence, whose energy and smiles made us feel truly welcome. The interior design was stunning, with tasteful wooden finishes and a well-balanced aesthetic that made the space feel safe, warm, and homely. We also appreciated the flexibility during checkout, as we were kindly granted extra time. Meeting the owner briefly was a pleasant bonus — he seemed genuinely kind and down-to-earth.

Honestly, there was nothing we didn’t like — our experience was seamless and exceeded expectations.

The property had good energy, lovely decor and was very spacious. The breakfast was also delicious and the coffee.

Nothing that requires comment here. As with any establishment, maintenance must be a continuous effort.

The booking was confirmed but the landlord, even confirmed; gave my room to someone else

The service was fantastic. The team was exceptional. The staff were so warm and they ensured I was well taken care of. Sakwe has such a home like feel and I miss being there. Safe, neat and homely environment.
