"Lovely, relaxed stay in a beautiful countryside cottage with super hosts."

10.0

Lovely cottage in a beautiful countryside setting. We chose to stay there for the weekend as it was within walking distance of Beacon Down vineyard, which we were visiting for a tour and wine tasting. Ann and Bob are perfect hosts, even letting us taking over their personal bbq which was already fired up, to save us starting from scratch on the guest bbq.

The ceilings are low if you’re tall (especially in the kitchen, where my 6ft 3 boyfriend couldn’t fully stand up), but that is clear in the description and adds to the character of the place.

"Perfect quaint cottage for lovely English countryside getaway."

10.0

Entry to this quaint ,traditional english tri level cottage is very easy, we called upon arrival and were buzzed in. We were given a remote for the gate and keys, which was all easy to operate. It was what we expected in a traditional cottage, our host had said some people were upset about the stairs but honestly, if yu don't read the description thats the fault of the person booking the accomm as it is outlined. As explained the kitchen has a low roof and the stairs are narrow and steep, which was completely fine for us, we're in our 40's and fit and healthy. It all added to the charm of the cottage. The bed is super comfy, the place is very clean, The host was lovely and very accommodating when i pre-asked about mirrors for makeup and a fan as it was one of Englands 3 hot days in the summer! The gardens are lovely and its a very relaxing space. Our host even gave me a darker towel to shower with as i'd mentioned i was wearing fake tan and makeup for a wedding. We bought some fresh chicken eggs and honey from the host on the way out which made fabulous gifts! It would also be lovely in winter as there is a fire and many books to read and a comfy couch. Would highly recommend for a stay!!

Would have liked a facewasher but i'm sure if i asked we would have received one. We were just so busy I forgot to ask.

Beautiful garden and cottage - full of interesting antiques and art - and extremely clean, well-equipped and comfortable. Ann is also a very helpful, friendly host who lent us foldable chairs to go out for the day. Make sure you buy Homestalls' own honey - it's wonderful!
