CAOnce we booked and paid, we received an inbox message from the owner saying he can’t receive customers because of renovations and we need to cancel. We were really scared to cancel as it is a non refundable booking. We contacted the customer service and they told us to send a no fee cancellation request to him. He kept saying he did not have our money (although it was taken from our account) and days passed where he never approuved the cancellation request although we texted him daily. We were really scared he was gonna get away with this scam and it affected our vacations. Once back, we reached out to the customer service again and they said we would get a refund in few days. We are still waiting for it. DONT book there, it’s a scam!
USI booked this property online. 5 minutes after receiving a confirmation I received a cancelled booking notice. The property could not honor the booking. Booking .com still charged me. I spoke to the owner of Casa Almeja and asked him to inform booking.com that he did not accept the reservation because he was under renovation. He should have blocked out the calendar. Weeks later I'm still hassling with them about my refund.
