I booked this hotel the evening before my delayed flight, specifically for a short stay from 7 AM to 12 PM. My arrival time was clearly indicated in advance, so I expected at least basic reception availability upon arrival. The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the airport, but the surrounding area is very isolated, with almost no services nearby besides agricultural buildings. Outside, there was a very strong smell of manure, and unfortunately inside the hotel this was replaced by an equally strong chemical odor. When I arrived at 7 AM, there was nobody at reception. I waited and repeatedly tried to find a staff member for about 30 minutes. Exhausted after the delayed flight, I eventually found an open room and fell asleep. At around 11 AM, I went to reception to present my passport and complete check-in properly. At that point, I was unexpectedly charged an additional fee for my cats, although this had not been clearly stated on the booking website. The cats had remained inside their carrier the entire time and never even left the bathroom area. As a cat breeder, I also want to point out that such strong chemical smells can be harmful to animals’ health and are not appropriate for a hotel advertising itself as pet-friendly. I tried to check the booking details online, but the Wi-Fi was not functioning at all. After I questioned the extra charges, the owner told me to leave the hotel immediately. Since there was no working internet and almost no traffic outside, I had no practical way to arrange transportation myself and had to use the taxi called by the owner. I was then informed that I would also have to cover the cost of transportation both from the airport to the hotel and back again. Overall, this experience was unnecessarily stressful after a delayed flight. Unfortunately, the stay did not meet reasonable expectations for a short airport stopover.
