Bungalows Arena Dorada

Bungalows Arena Dorada is in a perfect location, just about a block from Playa La Ropa. The infinity pool was pristine and the room we stayed in was exceptionally clean. Staff were nice and extremely helpful. They offered maid service almost every day (most places don't do that anymore). The amenities (dishes, silverware, cups/glasses, towels, etc) weren't fancy but completely sufficient for the two of us. They even had cable tv that offered a number of channels with english speaking programs. We had fun bing watching NCIS.

The water in the shower didn't get very hot but, considering the extreme heat during our stay, it was adequately warm.

Very uncomfortable Chairs on our "veranda"!! And needed a coffee table in living room.

This property is nice overall with some obvious stand-out features. It is/was largely occupied by friendly older Canadian long-stayers = a quiet, friendly environment. The proximity to the beach is hard to beat...perhaps impossible for the price. No breakfast is/was available on-site. However, the restaurant next door (El Vigia) has a downright spectacular breakfast menu in a lovely setting at very fair prices! In fact, access to that rest./hotel really compliments this place well overall.

The room simply wasn't clean/ed...and clearly hadn't been properly-cleaned in a good while. I advised the management post-departure and was assured that this would be addressed proactively going forward. There are/were non English speaking junior staff on-site, but no central point person as such. This is not necessarily a negative in and of itself, but in light of the cleanliness issue I reckon some supervisory presence would go a long way.
