Hotel Kaavi

The location was fantastic, and the beds are nice. The staff are ok but they couldn't understand English very well.

The bathroom was a nightmare. Not only was there no hot water in both mine and my friend's room on the second level, but the toilets block easily and flush once every half hour. They said they would fix it on the day but it never got fixed, and the solution was to use a bathroom on the bottom floor which was unoccupied. However, this was hours after being told the hot water would get fixed. Very conservative with toilet paper as well. On my first morning I got food poisoning from the breakfast (think it was the eggs) and was unwell for 3 days because of it. The rest of the food was average. To top off the visit, we couldn't pay with card and had to get cash out to pay for the stay. The manager cited fees, however if I'm using Booking.com I EXPECT CARD PAYMENT for the added convenience. Despite what the listing claims on Booking.com, this is NOT a 5-star hotel. It's scraping 3 stars, so unsure how that happened. Won't ever stay again and would recommend you don't either until they fix these glaring problems.
