Kirana Retreat - Beach Front Resort

Staff us super nice and the location is a dream. The quality of the food is great. You really disconnect and relax.

Overpriced. You have to pay for any little extra like a glass of water or even a broken snorkeling mask. The place should be totally clean both indoors and outdoors: we had stained pillows for example.and the.garden and beach were not super clean. As the location is super remote you are pretty much dependent on the service of the retreat and they make you pay a lot for it.

The huts were beautiful, but seriously overpriced. The food and drinks in the restaurant was delicious, and so.were the overall vibes (music, etc.). The beach is beautiful.

The photos on Booking are deceptive! This place does not have a pool (the main reasons for us to splurge on this place based on the photos). Many of the other photos are from the nearby Kina resort from the same owner. This place is seriously overpriced. We have stayed in so many nicer places across Indonesia for less than a third of the rate. The cottages are a total rip-off. Very basic, standard rooms that would cost $20 everywhere in Indonesia are more than $100 here (see photos). When you charge such high rates like this, you would expect top-notch service. Although staff is friendly, they are very junior. Charging the outrageous amount of $5 per hour for snorkeling gear is simply bad service if you charge such high room rates. The beach is beautiful, but swimming is very difficult due to the shallow water and coral. All in all, the pictures look beautiful, but we were disappointed. The food.and the music were fantastic,, however.

Everything! It was the most relaxing, nurturing experience ever.

Fantastic bungalow in paradise. Good food. Idea to protect turtles by buying eggs, breeding and release

Release procedure for turtles was hold back by 1 day in one case and 2 days without food in a box with strong current; to have maximum visitors . Quite a few turtles died before release and the remaining turtles have been so exhausted, that they rested after every second step on their way to the ocean. I saw turtle release in Malaysia and they rushed to the sea. This place would be perfect, if nature protection would be higher rated than visitisor entertainment.

Surrounding feels like in paradise, the huts are exceptional with outside bathroom and ocean view. The staff were super nice and helpful, the food is quite expensive but you pay for the view and it did taste just awesome and original! A lot of vegetables are also selfgrown and treated with love. We had a fantastic stay and would love to come back soon! PS : best coffee in Sumbawa

We originally booked 5 nights at Kirana and extended for an extra 2 because we loved it so much. Set in an amazing private bay with beautiful surroundings, it was such a tranquil place to stay. Lots of surf breaks close by and easy to get to by scooter which we hired from Kirana. We cannot speak more highly about the staff and the effort they went to to ensure we had everything we needed. We will absolutely be back! The food was so delicious and a really extensive menu catering to all dietary needs with lots of healthy and fresh options. We were really impressed by the greenhouse that was recently built to grow their own produce! Great coffee, juices and cocktails on offer too!
