Mont Astral

View is amazing. Lina and family were friendly and super helpful gave loads of good recommendations for walks restaurants and beaches in the area. Apartment very nice for 2 people. Recommend booking a bigger room if you plan to be in in the evenings as it gets a bit chilly and windy outside.

Not a dislike but a recommendation to provide maybe some blankets for the outside seating.

Great views, great hosts

Location in the quiet mountains

excellent views, nice location, large and nicely decorated room

the owners attitude when it came to fix a water leak flooding the bathroom. we reported it on 2 consecutive days and couldn't access toilet or shower. owner was rude the 2nd time, started yelling at us and blaming us, instead of focusing on fixing the issue. we didn't feel welcome anymor and left after 2 of 5 days!

The location is incredible, with access to the garden and outdoor kitchen, you live most of the time outside when the weather permits. There is a lovely new wooden house to which we were invited, people will love it. I'm sure it's the perfect summer location.

There is no window in the bathroom, so the humidity has trouble to ventilate. That’s the same in the room, there is only the door for aeration. There is a reversible air conditioner to heat the space, nonetheless a heater would be needed. Unfortunately, the water wasn't hot enough to enjoy the tub.

Stunning location in the Monchique mountains and a very fun and friendly cat. Beautiful building with good facilities. Lovely outdoors kitchen to cook in and local supermarket only a ten minute drive away. The pool isn’t working in the winter months which was a shame but that tends to be fairly common in Portugal. I hear plans for an outside bar in the summer next to the pool is on the cards though which will be amazing. The host was very amenable and interesting to chat with. He was extremely helpful with links to various hikes and great restaurants and we very much enjoyed his company when we saw him. We very much look forward to come back.

Futon bed a bit hard for me but the host said he was planning on upgrading all the matrices soon anyway.

Mont Astral is a special get away in the mountains! Lina was a very nice host and gave excellent recommendations. The room was comfortable and the view is breathtaking. Definitely a place to bring some groceries and wine as the roads to get here are tiny and winding. For a couple or group of friends (or solo traveler) who loves nature and is not afraid to make themselves a meal- perfect!
