Both dinner and breakfast were amazing, thoroughly Japanese and beautifully prepared and served. The meals were a real treat. The position of the hotel is isolated on a rise, with a stunning view over the ocean and a park on the other side. There was a nice walk to a black sand beach through forest. The room was very large and the onsen was good and warm. Also the sauna (included in the price)

The rooms and furnishings were very clean but were well-used. I'm not a big fan of sleeping on a futon (I'm very senior and find sleeping at floor level uncomfortable),

From the first glance, it may seem a bit old, but it is a really welcoming and peaceful place to stay close to Noboribetsu.The shuttle bus service helps with commuting. The surroundings are green and beautiful, the cuisine tasty (seafood kaiseki, Japanese breakfast), and the staff is just great! By the way, we also enjoyed the onsen area. There is one inside and one outside pool, and the latter is serene.

Some things may seek a bit worn out.

Tge rooms were a bit dated. Front desk staff could not speak much English and were not as warm and friendly as at other places but still kind.

While clean, the property appeared quite aged.

The rooms were slightly dated and in serious need to upgrade. However they are still clean and works well

Incredible ocean views from the rooms and outdoor Onsen (which is tattoo friendly). One staff member was superbly kind, she has only been working there 5 days and spoke excellent English. She checked us in, and attended to us at dinner. We’re sad we didn’t catch her name to compliment her service to the owners. Amazing wagyu dinner. The building and furniture are a bit run down but it’s charming and clean, so that’s excusable.

The restaurant rooms could do with a refresh, some decoration, softer lighting etc. Also, small thing but our full names were written on a dedicated shelf in the shoe room, and at the restaurant area. I would assume some people would be uncomfortable with this. Our room number or first names would be enough - for privacy sake.
