Stunning location, friendly and helpful host

Very welcoming host.

Stone House has stunning views, perfect place to stay if you like peace and quiet. The bed was very comfortable with an electric blanket. Plenty of hot water from the shower and lovely large bath towel. An electric kettle ,tea, coffee and fresh milk in room. A continental breakfast is included in price and a freshly cooked breakfast is available at an extra cost. Both are very tasty. Emma sent me an email prior to arrival with instructions on how to find Stone House and nearby places to eat.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

Location was great lovely friendly welcome

Room very cold because she wouldn’t turn on any heat until we told her we had a freezing night. She turned it on for a couple of hours around dinner time, then turned it off again until 8 the next morning, so we froze again. Had enough, so we packed up and tried knocking twice to let her know, but she didn’t answer, so we left a note and went home a day early and she got money from us for 3 nights, when we stayed for two. She didn’t offer to reimburse for the night we didn’t stay. Evening meals not provided and pubs around area didn’t serve meals for the first half of the week. Very remote.

What a stunning location, the view was fantastic of the surrounding hills. Good sized room with a very comfy bed and the bathroom had both a shower and tub (I used both!) with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Guests have use of a separate lounge to watch TV or play games - as I was the only guest that night, I had it to myself. Breakfast, while Continental, was served on lovely china and was high quality. Emma was a friendly and warm host.

The rooms available to me were very cold but Emma is working on getting the heating figured out - to be fair, it was an absolutely horrible, rainy day and night when I was there. I did just get in bed at 9 p.m. to get warm and the down filled duvet was perfect! Lighting to guide guests to the front door if they arrive after dark would be appreciated - again, Emma correcting this as well for future guests as it gets dark so early in winter.

Stone House was such a treat. A beautiful house in a spectacular setting. Emma was so kind and welcoming. A wonderful break. Thoroughly recommend.

Don't even think about staying here unless you have your own transport or plan on doing some serious walking. Stone House is in a truly beautiful part of the world but it is pretty remote.
