White Villa Goyambokka - Private Pool Villa

very nice villa, super friendly family and near to the beach The owner drove us every evening to the town for dinner and they also made breakfast for us, eventhough we haven’t booked it. We really loved everything at White Villa.

This is such a wonderful little homestay. More like a private Villa, quiet, private, clean, own garden, spacious property whilst providing all the benefits that a homestay can provide. Upul and his family are lovely and can be on hand whenever needed. The breakfast provide is lovely and was different each day, Upul has bikes you can use but also has a taxi and Tuk Tuk service so if you want to do anything Upul can help you do it in the easiest, cost effective and safe manner. We only had 2 nights as we were passing through on a last minute detour to Tangalle but will hopefully come back and stay for longer one day. There are two great beaches in easy walking distance and a short Tuk Tuk ride into town. Upul would take us in an come and collect us later if we sent him a WhatsApp.

The hosts are very helpful. They will gladly help with everything. Rich breakfast. There is a beautiful garden around the villa. Functional air conditioning, fast wifi. It is a 5-minute walk to the beach. Upon arrival, chilled beers are prepared in the fridge.

Some people may mind the partially uncovered shower. It's nice, but in case of rain, water is everywhere in the bathroom.

I returned to White Villa in February 2025 after staying there in 2024 (see my other review), because I loved it so much!! What to say? Still the best place in Tangalle/Goyambokka with all necessary amenities :-) In one year the garden grew a lot, now its even greener and you have total privacy. Upuls family also built a second homestay close to their house, so its possible to visit with a party/group of up to 6 people, if you book both (White Villa and White Villa Homestay, altogether 3 rooms/beds), not counting small kids. Upul can also help you with all needs regarding traveling (Scooter, transportation, logistics around Tangalle). Nature, beaches, home-made food and of course the wonderful family of Upul will make your stay at White Villa an unforgettable experience! Thank you so much for everything!

Just returned home after spending over two weeks here. The Villa is spacious and well equipped. In pleasant surroundings with a large covered veranda overlooking a lovely garden with many local birds, flowers and plants. We only used the kitchen for making drinks, but there is more than adequate space and facilities to cook meals if you wanted. The two bedrooms are large, both with modern AC and large ceiling fans, and enough storage space. We found the bed/ mattress super comfortable and slept really well. Towels and bed linen change and room cleaning was done regularly and on request. You can choose what time you want your breakfast, which was very tasty and changed daily and included local breakfast dishes, fruit, fruit juice, tea, water, yoghurt, omelettes, toast etc.. However, you can make requests and we also ate a couple of evening meals there too, which were lovely and home cooked, and reasonably priced. The owner Upul and his lovely family and are exceptionally kind and flexible, live next door and are at hand to help. We did three trips organised by Upul, and thoroughly enjoyed them. Upul was also at hand with his tuk tuk for local rides, to the beach or shop for example. Also, my wife has some walking difficulties and after finding out, two hand rails were quickly constructed leading from the lane to the garden path. Nice walks in land up to the lake and local village and temple. You can also walk into Tangalle town centre in about 30 minutes via these country roads which is a lot more pleasant than using the main road

Hands down - it was unforgettable experience! A comfortable and clean villa with 2 super large beds, large kitchen and spacious shower with a small roof opening just above the shower so you can watch stars or feel tropical rain during your shower time. There is an electrical boiler for the hot shower water, so we always had hot water with good pressure! Mattress and linens were absolutely perfect, AC was also working good. Villa itself is surrounded by tropical trees. You will see monkeys, if you are lucky. We were not :) Breakfast was served in the shadow of the terrace and was truly great with local products like curd, pancakes, fresh juice, fruits and of course fried eggs to enjoy while overlooking the greenery and listening for tropical fauna songs. Villa’s owner was very attentive and helped us by getting us to the nearest beaches using his tuk-tuk and arranging a trip to Udawalawe national park. Overall absolutely 10/10 for the price we paid.

Everything was great.

The villa is beautiful with large windows facing the garden with banana trees and coconut palms. You can relax on a private veranda and watch fireflies at night. It's a family-friendly place offering a lot of privacy but also space for socialising with Utul, Nirosha and their three lovely children. We loved Tangalle beaches and the White Villa - it's a perfect tranquil place. A really great start of our holiday.

Nice villa with two bedrooms, showers and kitchen. Rooms are spacious with big windows so you get a lot of daylight. Air conditioning works perfectly. Shower is big, also shower with warm water is there. Kitchen was greatly equipped with all we needed, including big fridge with ice. Villa was exceptionally clean. There was nice garden perfectly maintained by the owners. It was also possible to order a dinner what we also did and dinner was great. Owner and his family were very friendly and helpful. They live in house next to villa. We also felt enough privacy. Our breakfasts at White villa were perfect! Delicious Sri Lankan food also different every day.

The White Villa is very well located in Tangale as a base to explore things around: temples, many beaches and the surroundings are very calm and beautiful. You have a separated villa for yourself since there are only 2 rooms available and they don't rent them at the same time. Our hosts were amazing in making us feel at home, the breakfast (and dinner) was very good. They gave us great tips to explore things around (like temples during full moon day) and we also rented a scooter with them. Our stay and 2 days with them was definitely one of the highlights of our 2 weeks here, thank you so much 😄

Wonderfull family run wonderful vila :). We decided to prolong our vacation to take a chance for a second visit of this charming place. Country side location, very relaxing environment with subtile touch to make your stay unforgettable. Delicious breakfast nothing to compare to so called "continental" tasteless stuff served in many branded hotels. Host available all day long, staff very polite and discreet. Very comfortable, private, beautifully designed villa with a very comfortable and wide bed covered with mosquito net, a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking (even a mixer), a huge terrace with relaxation and dining areas. Fibre optic internet link - fast and stable. It is worth mentioning the tastefully furnished bathroom. The villa is immersed in a carefully maintained tropical garden, we could watch how tropical fruits spread and grow, listen to various bird songs from morning to evening, and observe the migration of monkeys through the treetops every evening. It is a unique experience. The villa is away from the main road, nothing prevents you from enjoying the sounds of the tropical forest. The lighting is planned very wisely, you can turn on the light where it is convenient for you. It is allowed to leave the car in the owner's yard. There are two beaches nearby to the nearest about 600 m. However, it is worth exploring further afield, which are truly plentiful. Exceptional breakfast - an egg dish (a tribute to European taste) with fresh juice, fruit and a new, delicate national dish every day perfectly prepared by the caring owners. The host family located in the neighbouring house surrounded us with sincere care. A special word of praise should be said about the hosts' kitchen. For dinner, guests can choose dishes from the a la carte menu, which are definitely worth trying. All tasted were delicately flavoured, fresh, made just for you. We appreciate Upul and his family for time spend there.
