Riverston Nature Villa

During my stay, the hotel was undergoing renovations, and I'm sure it will look beautiful once completed. The host is a kind and generous gentleman who truly cares about his guests. The caretaker lady is also very attentive and serves with genuine care. It’s a pleasant place located by the river, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim for fun.

For improvement, I suggest adding a cable TV, a mini fridge, and some tea/coffee-making facilities.

Divya, who maintains the villa, was a pleasant lady. Delicious food she prepared. The price for the food is ok. It is a pleasant environment.Easyacess. There are few public transport in the morning you can use to go to reveston Tower, Pitawala pathana and Manigala. you have to wait till the same bus return in the evening.

The price of the room is a little high. Basic toiletries were not provided.Little reluctant to accommodate the booking of who is living in Srilanka.

Our stay at this charming cottage nestled deep in the Knuckles jungle was nothing short of magical. The peaceful setting, surrounded by lush greenery, offered the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. A beautiful mountain river, Nikal Oya, runs along the edge of the property—its crystal-clear, ice-cold waters are ideal for a refreshing dip. We learned from the friendly owner that this is the highest altitude in the river suitable for bathing, which made the experience even more special. The hospitality was exceptional. The caretaker, Diviya, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. She personally guided us to a hidden mountain temple and the stunning Bambarakiri Ella waterfall, leading us through picturesque paddy fields along the way. Riverston Peak is just 9 km from the cottage, and watching the sunset from the mountain was absolutely breathtaking. If you’re looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, and explore some of Sri Lanka’s lesser-known natural wonders, this is the place for you. Public transport is also available nearby, which is a bonus for travelers without a car. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Riverston area!

This Villa is a truly peaceful and tranquil retreat in the Knuckles area. This was my second visit to this beautiful place, and it never fails to impress. The hotel owner arranged a delightful village tour for us, allowing us to meet local villagers and engage with their community. They also kindly organized a complimentary lunch for us (which we gladly paid for), adding to the authentic experience. The journey to the villa involved a scenic mountain river crossing, where we enjoyed a cool bath in the evening — a refreshing highlight. In the evening, the caretaker, Diviya, thoughtfully arranged a small campfire and BBQ dinner, creating a cozy and memorable atmosphere. Our rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a perfect base to relax and connect with nature. If you're looking to immerse yourself in the serenity of nature, I highly recommend Riverston Nature Villa. It’s the ideal place for anyone seeking peace, adventure, and authentic local experiences in the Knuckles region.

A wonderfully peaceful accommodation located near a picturesque stream and surrounded by forest. The rooms were comfortable, and despite our late arrival, the very attentive owner arranged a delicious dinner for us, which we could enjoy in the garden or on the terrace. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, and everything was handled smoothly and effortlessly. Nice place to stay!

Finding the turn-off to the accommodation was a bit tricky, as there was no sign, and we arrived after dark on our gravel bikes, coming down from the Knuckles Mountain Range/Riverston Pass. However, friendly neighbors helped us, and the owner was easily reachable by phone.

The host was really nice and eager to share the beauty of the surroundings. The place is quiet cause in nature Info: breakfast is at 1,800 rupees pp and dinner at 2,200 rupees pp

I booked the villa deluxe, this is not a villa but a room. We did not have hot water. Air con was not working but we didn’t need it.

Beautiful location,near the river. Very relaxing and surrounded by nature. Jaya the owner is very friendly and helpful. The place has big potential but needs immediate renovation.

We had a lovely stay in the middle of nature
