CASA ELISA Appartament

Casa Elisa was in a good location- very hard to find at first and this was off to a bad start because we had to carry 40kgs of luggage up 100 stairs just looking for the place as the number of the building on the street was not what was on our booking plus the name of the place is not on any sign on the property at all. It was very annoying having to ask a local postman where to find it and he didn't even know. The room was nice and the bed comfortable only after at least an hour of it feeling like an ice bath because the room was freezing from the heater not working (we had to look up how to get the heating to work and couldn't). There was also no kettle or milk or tea bags, sugar etc to make a cuppa. Immediately outside the front door is a construction zone of a courtyard. We couldn't wait to leave the place. At least the location was good...walking distance to the jetty and main wharf area.

I will make a list. 1. Difficult to find on arrival- we had address and instructions, but neither the local taxi or the postman could find the address! We did a LOT of walking up and down stairs and the local postman was very helpful...access point was very shabby with steps that needed help and a different street number to our booking confo. Postman and Taxi driver had never heard of Casa Elisa 2. The courtyard that the room opened onto was a construction zone. I'm sure it will be nice when finished... 3. The air conditioning didn't work- it was winter and freezing in the room. Calls to owner didn't help 4. The kitchenette had a coffee machine with nothing to make coffee with. There were no plates, cups or cutlery to use, and nothing to clean up with 5. And worst. I'm new to reviews. The owner asked my booking.com PIN. I had paid cash to the neighbour as instructed and thought he must have needed the PIN for payment to booking- so I gave it to him and he wrote a false review for me!
