Excellent host with great local info and delicious breakfast. Good sized room and bathroom with interesting knickknacks.

Very welcoming & friendly, nice to able to sit in the garden on a warm evening.

Probably not the best value for money when compared to other places we’ve stayed. Pleasant.

Barb and Jeff were lovely hosts and we enjoyed their company very much. The accommodation has plenty of character and was very comfortable. The cooked breakfast was great Their dogs were adorable.

We chose Barb's Place on the basis of its location - close to winery lunches at Greystone and Black Estate. We enjoyed Barb and Jeff's company as we chatted about all sorts of experiences and current affairs!

No air conditioning, but the fan worked for us.

The place is so peaceful, and the owners have added their own creative, personal touches to everything you see, it's fantastic! Add to that the incredibly comfortable bed, brilliant shower and most delicious breakfast, and you have the best stay you can find in the South Island. Great hosts too - these guys are really inspiring! We were welcomed very warmly, and felt free to make ourselves at home.. they gave us unlimited help on everything available locally, and run a wee food truck nearby, which is equally first-class! Would definitely recommend and intend on returning. Solid wifi connection and only 1hr from Hanmer.
