Apartments Plaza Hotel

Hotel manager/owner was absolutely brilliant and very helpful.

Had a slight problem with drainage but manager moved us straight away into a different room which was nice until the problem was sorted. Had a particular receptionist in the night shift who was not particularly helpful and at times could not smile and seemed at times seems to be a bit cold in his attitude.

We had 2 bed apartment. Both bedrooms were of a good size, and the beds lovely and comfortable. The apartment was cleaned every day by lovely ladies. Beds were made nicely and towels were changed daily. The aircon in the bedrooms was good to have. A bar of soap and toilet rolls were supplied daily, as was teabags, sweeteners and powdered milk. We had hot water all the time in the shower. Although the showers looked a little grubby, they were clean. Most of the receptionists were very nice and friendly, although one man didn't seem happy at all.

Mainly the noise. The apartments are above one of the noisiest bars on the strip. And on several nights they had live singers performing until early hours of the morning, and the bass noise in the bedrooms was so loud, it kept us all awake. I know the advert says there is a nightclub below, but I just couldn't believe the loudness of the music. There is no hairdryer. There is nowhere to hang washing out to dry - just a simple line and a few pegs would help. The fan in the lounge was extremely noisy and you couldn't hear the TV if the fan was on. No aircon in lounge area. Friends booked a separate apartment, and they were without hot water for 5 days.

Perfect location, good value for the money, good service, definitely coming back.

I liked the location

The manager wasn’t quite welcoming. I can’t believe that I there isn’t a card reader at the hotel to pay for my stay there so I was asked to go to a vending machine outside that wouldn’t allow me to withdraw the money required to pay for my stay so I was forced to transfer some money through western union which I used to pay for my stay,thus incurring additional costs that wasn’t factored in my plans.A lot of passengers encountered the same fate so I think that payment should be taken in advance to make the holiday more enjoyable and less stressful

Great location, good rooms for gambia standard. Several great restaurants underneath the apartment. The Lebanese bar on the end does great food & drinks. Management very helpful if needed & rooms cleaned everyday & don't hassle you early in the morning. Highly recommended, I've been to gambia many times & this overall is as good as anywhere.

The location, far too noisy, dusty The bookings photos are so misleading The Internet in the room is very hit and miss We arrived and had 3 days (our stop was for 5 days) with no hot water, we couldn't shower, and the area is so dusty. It was reported to the cleaner, the reception, the manager, and nothing was done. After endless battles, the maintained manager attempted a fix on the second day and failed but completed the fix on the 3rd day. After another standing argument. On the first day we asked to change rooms but the request was denied, no spare rooms, however the cleaning staff said there were plenty of empty rooms. On day 2, after endless arguments, we managed to get a spare room we could shower in, but not to move to?? We spent 3 days of our 5 day holiday chasing staff, cross examining the reception staff while a trail of people kept arriving, running the water, telling us it was cold and leaving. Absolutely useless. The hotel is on a very busyness dual carriageway, the noise does not stop and it seems mandatory to drive while pressing the horn, there a line of resturants/bars built into the ground floor of the hotel and rented out, they are very noisy and can peak around 3am The bed was so squeaky that you couldn't move for fear of waking your partner, badly designed wooden base that needs serious attention. This 4 star hotel is probably closer to 1 or 2 star, I've booked hotels in Mexico, Guatemala, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, and Albania to mention a few places and none have been as bad as the Hotel Plaza Apparents. 4 star, what a joke I could post dozens of pictures showing curtains hanging down, thick rust on shower tiles, bare wires, shower heads where the water comes out at the back of the head instead of the front, just poor maintenance and management.
