Honeyguide Ranger Camp

Ficamos 3 dias durante o inverno sul-africano, com temperaturas variando entre 6°C e 20°C, e a experiência superou todas as expectativas. Chegamos por volta do meio-dia, deixamos as malas na acomodação, almoçamos e já seguimos para o primeiro safari. A área da reserva é enorme e, desde o primeiro passeio, começamos a avistar uma grande variedade de animais e aves. Nosso guia, Juan, sempre fazia rotas diferentes, tornando cada safari único e aumentando as chances de encontrar novas espécies. A acomodação é excelente: espaçosa, confortável e completamente integrada à natureza. Era comum ver animais passando em frente ao quarto, o que deixava a experiência ainda mais especial. Ficamos na acomodação 15 e o Wi-Fi não funcionava muito bem por lá. Para algumas pessoas isso pode ser um ponto negativo, mas para nós acabou sendo positivo. Foi uma ótima oportunidade para desacelerar, desconectar um pouco das redes sociais e aproveitar mais tempo de qualidade juntos. Quando precisava de internet, conseguia acessar sem problemas nas áreas de alimentação. Falando em alimentação, ela merece um destaque especial. A comida era excelente e parecia que estávamos sempre comendo! Começávamos com um café rápido antes do safari da manhã, fazíamos uma pausa durante o passeio, depois vinha o café da manhã completo, almoço, outra pausa durante o safari da tarde e, por fim, o jantar. Tudo muito bem preparado e servido. Ao longo dos 6 safaris, conseguimos avistar 4 dos Big Five, faltando apenas o búfalo-africano. Com a enorme quantidade de animais espalhados pela reserva, entendemos que alguns encontros dependem de um pouco de sorte. Foi uma experiência inesquecível, com uma equipe muito atenciosa, ótima estrutura, excelente comida e safaris incríveis. Recomendo sem hesitar para quem deseja viver uma verdadeira experiência de safari na África do Sul.

Rustic atmosphere and bush experience

Perfect setting, good facilities and beautiful scenery. The ‘tents’ are luxurious yet rustic at the same time and in perfect keeping with the whole safari experience.

Nothing

The location and game drives are great. Rooms were clean.

The food was not great. Mom joked that we eat better at home. Cheap cuts of meat for stews. The chefs try but clearly “budget friendly meals” is the brief given. Was expecting better. The bar was also not correctly stocked. There was no stock of items on the menu. Only one tot of whiskey left in all three different brands and no “replacements” available. The Poor barman was working without supplies- not ideal! Could really have benefited from a coffee and tea station in the room for those early mornings and quiet afternoons. Tried to get a cooldrink from the bar at 12h00 no one to be found. Our bar bill would have been much more if we could have had service. We visited as a family in 2021 and the standards have seriously dropped in 5years it’s sad.

The location and food were great. The staff were very helpful and willing to assist. The animal sightings were amazing.

The accommodation was comfortable but does need to be spruced up to take it to the next level.

We loved everything, from the amazing food to our very special fantastic guide Solomon! If you can choose, choose him. He made it possible for us to see soo many different animals! The huts were very comfortable! We could not wish for anything more. ( You could see animals from the pool!)

Beautiful location, friendly staff, comfortable accommodation and the food was great. Animal sightings provided a fun experience being up close . Ranger Solomon was fantastic and he just added to the experience of what it should be in the bush. Other rangers Jimmy and Juan were also always friendly and helpful.

No coffee facility in room but that’s it.
