Upon arrival Sudeeptha really took the time to get to know us and tell us everything about Kandy and gave a lot of tips! We only stayed 1 night, but the room was very clean, the breakfast delicious (many options). Price to quality ratio very good!

The place & the room was amazing! There is nature, space and Sri is very involve. He drove us everywhere. It was a nice stay :)

From the very first moment, Sri welcomed us with open arms, offering kindness, attention, and support that goes beyond words. He tirelessly ensured we had everything we needed, making us feel completely at home. Our gratitude for Sri is immense - he was, and continues to be, a true gift to us. As for the location, while it initially seemed distant, we soon realized that this blessed space offered something much more valuable: a haven of peace and tranquility. Staying here was, without a doubt, the best decision we made. Just 10 minutes away by motorbike from the bustling city of Kandy, the homestay allowed us to enjoy a serene atmosphere, where we could admire the towering banana trees and lush vegetation from the balcony, while listening to the songs of various bird species around us. The breakfasts provided by Sri were a true culinary experience, with a wide variety of options carefully prepared. Each of the five daily menus allowed us to savor the authentic local flavors and textures in a delicious and genuine way. Moreover, Sri was more than just a host—he helped us with transportation, arranging motorbike rentals and offering tips for train journeys, gave us advice on shopping, and provided invaluable suggestions on the best places to visit. Always available, Sri was instrumental in making our stay not only comfortable but unforgettable. Serene Homestay, with Sri as its host, is far more than just a place to stay. It is a destination that provides memories and friendships to last a lifetime.

Sri, you are fantastic! We had the best time here. The owner is so so so nice, he is really interested in you and if you want he’ll show you around and has many good recommendations. The breakfast every day was so nice (he has 5 options but we ate the same every day because the dhal, roti and coconut sambol was way too good!!) We ended up extending our stay to 11 days (due to having to work in a nearby coworking space as well). But we were so happy to stay here all the time. Really if you go to Kandy you have to book here with Sri! We will miss you 😊

This stay was one of our best stays during our whole visit of Sri Lanka. The host made EVERYTHING possible to make our trip as pleasant and memorable as possible! Their breakfast was really nice as well and so was the room. Really clean with a nice bathroom and spacious bedroom. Really loved our stay and will definitely come back.

Sri has put a lot of hard work into creating a western-styled homestay with all the comforts. It was so good to have a decent hot shower and sleep in a proper big comfy bed. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony each morning drinking a cup of delicious tea and enjoying the tropical garden and listening to all the birds. We also discovered that if you sit on the balcony at night and turn off the lights there are fireflies in the trees and lots of bats flying around the night sky. We loved the amazing Sri Lankan breakfasts every morning, with components made by all the family, Sri himself, his mum and his sister. Sri was very helpful. He went over and above to ensure we were comfortable and to provide us with information, ideas, solutions and most of all, his time. On the evening we arrived he kindly jumped in his car and met us just outside of Kandy as outside drivers sometimes get lost. He also drove us to the place we wanted to eat dinner at that night. Sri clearly puts his heart into running the homestay business and works hard to tend to all the details. He genuinely likes people and is interested in them. We enjoyed our conversations with him about his life and experiences. There is a little store at the top of the hill run by an elderly gentleman (affectionately called My Friend by the locals) who is just lovely. We bought our water and other bits and pieces from him.

Nothing, it was all good

The room is very clean, and the bathroom is new with a separate wet and dry area. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, providing plenty of travel information even before check-in. Plus, the breakfast they make by hand is absolutely delicious!

It would be better if the room provided a mosquito net.

The owner was super friendly and helpful! The room was beautiful, newly renovated and clean with a small balcony with beautiful views into the greenery! Breakfast was also delicious :) perfect place to stay a little outside from noisy Kandy town yet easy to reach with scooter or tuktuk
