It’s a death trap. It was the scariest stay in my life! All doors and windows have wrought iron bars and locked by physical keys. That is good protection, but when there’s an emergency and the house-keeper is nowhere to be seen and you CANNOT get out, you should be scared! The housekeeper agreed to give us some food to takeaway at 4:30 am so we arranged for Uber pickup at 5 am. We went to the lobby at 4:30 and waited politely until 4:50 and still saw no one. We got panicked and started to knock on doors where we thought the housekeeper was sleeping and no response. All guests on the first floor woke up and tried to help but didn’t know where the housekeeper was. We didn’t know what number to call for help. We got the Uber driver’s attention and asked him to ring the doorbell repeatedly. At almost 5:10, the housekeeper and a young woman showed up with sleepy eyes. And, the young woman was not in any hurry to let us out and asked where our room key was! She finally satisfied when she confirmed the key was on the table.

Jenny and her colleague made our stay more enjoyable and assistance on everything even referral for a reliable driver to take us where we wanted to go. All was perfect for us. Quite and relax. The Room arrangements was also perfect.we stayed 6 nights If I go to Cape Town again I will definitely go back there. Value for money. Thumbs up for Jenny and her colleague ❤️🙏

False advertising, no swimming pool, cochroaches running in the room. On website they say it's 4 Star and its not. Advertise free wifi, but the password doesn't get supplied to you,you have to give your phone to them. It acctually have to be provided in the room. Room are very small for a family. Before 5 in the morning guest was trying to get out to their Uber driver no one around to open. So now everyone is awake of this load noice and the Uber guy kept ringing the bell!!! I raised my issue with the owner, then Jenny the lady that runs the lodge, calls me and we I was explaining why I am unhappy she puts the phone down in my ear. I am taking this matter further no customer should be treated like that. I would like a full refund. They got away with this for to long. Bad reviews all over!!! and yet nothing has been done to improve

The host was lovely

The property is in need of major renovation. The bedsheets didn’t feel fresh or newly changed. Although the room has four beds, it’s far too small for a family. Breakfast consisted of cooked frozen chicken pieces, eggs, bananas, and apples — quite underwhelming for the price. Additionally, it gets very noisy at night, making it difficult to sleep.

Breakfast was standard - but staff was eager to please. We only had breakfast once. Location was great for my trip

Savoy Lodge has already become a familiar place and a true reference for our family stays in Cape Town. The location is safe, the rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast is prepared with care, carrying that special touch that makes us feel at home. A very special note of appreciation goes to Mrs. Jenny, an tireless, kind, and always present host, who goes out of her way to make every guest feel welcome and supported. She truly makes a difference.

The only point for improvement would be the quality of the internet connection in some of the peripheral rooms, a bit distant from the reception.
