Hotel Jelen

The hotel clearly has a lot of potential, and you can already see that improvements are being made. The renovated reception, bar, and terrace areas look very promising and show the direction the hotel wants to go. However, in my opinion, the renovation started at the wrong end of the property. The rooms are currently very outdated and need much more attention. Several practical aspects make the stay less comfortable than expected. For example, there are almost no accessible power sockets in the room. Most sockets are located behind the TV, where the TV and fridge are already plugged in, leaving very limited options for guests to charge phones or other devices. Most of the rooms we stayed in had bathtubs without shower screens, which caused water to spill all over the bathroom floor. In the one room we had with a shower, the shower head holder was worn out or broken, so the shower head kept sliding down instead of staying in position. The beds are also showing significant wear and could definitely benefit from replacement or refurbishment. Breakfast was another area where improvement is needed. Even when arriving with an hour left before breakfast service ended, several buffet items were already empty and had to be requested. Although the staff eventually provided more food, it felt as though this was an inconvenience because the kitchen had already started cleaning up before the official end of breakfast hours. Overall, the hotel is on the right path and has the potential to become a fantastic place to stay. Once the rooms are renovated to the same standard as the reception and bar areas, I believe this could become a truly excellent hotel. Guests are generally more willing to accept older common areas if the rooms themselves are modern, comfortable, and functional.

Wir haben das Hotel als Ausgangspunkt für sightseeing Nitra, Trnava Trencin etc. genützt. Das Hotel hat uns angenehm überrascht, die Zimmer geräumig, die Küche war sehr gut, und auch das Ambiente dieses Hauses. Wir würden es wieder nutzen wollen.
