Clean on arrival.

Needs some care, broken lampshade main bedroom, no lampshade on landing bare light bulb. Mirror off wall. No lock on bathroom door. Recycling needs sorting, many items left from previous occupiers. No instant coffee, some ground coffee in cupboard but no coffee maker or cafetiere. Outside space was tidy but no seating.

Clean and functional

Located in a nice quiet neighborhood with lots of greenery around which was good as we had our dog with us. The house itself was clean and nicely renovated.

There was a small double bed which is too small for couples in my opinion. There is plenty of space to upgrade to a super king size bed. Lack of storage if you like to unpack your suitcase as there are only few hangers. Again, plenty of space to put a chest of drawers to each bedroom to make a better use of the space. Lack of plugs. You can choose to either charge your phone or to use the bedside lamp. One of the beds in the twin bedroom did not have access to any plug.

The water pressure in the shower was not great and there were no dish towels.

Lovely house, exactly as advertised

Nothing really.

I’m very surprised by the good reviews on this property, the reviews were what made me really book to stay at Grove House but it was pretty terrible. The front door hinges were broken and a nightmare to get in and out. Neighbours were banging about until gone 11pm which I understand is not the owners fault but still extremely frustrating and something to be aware of. The shower had zero water pressure. The double bed was extremely uncomfortable and I got bit 4 times on my back in December, I have been to the doctors as they have got infected and they have said the bites consist of bed bug bites which are usually when the bites all line up in a row of your back. The floor boards through the hole of upstairs are extremely loud and creaky. I took my baby so she was in a next to me by the bed and every time I got her to-sleep and put her down she woke up when I tried to leave the room due to the floor boards. The cupboards opposite the main double bedroom as a hole in the wall that leads straight to outside, if this is not a guest cupboard it should really have a lock on it. I could go on but I won’t. This was very unsatisfactory stay and when I contacted the owners they were extreme blunt and were not interested in the issues. I could have messaged them while I was there but none of the above was going to get sorted in the three nights/two days I was staying at the property I just thought they would be more understanding. Overall I would not stay again nor recommend anyone to stay here.
