"The weather was perfect, polite staff, good food and wine"

Size, lovely decor, excellent, quality bed, lovely towels but one of the bathrobes was very poor and discolored. Two tvs, lovely curtains provided blackout, however the fan in the bathroom was noisy throughout the night with a very high pitched whine noise.

Gorgeous accommodation with roll top bath. Great full english breakfast too.

Short walk from rooms down the road to the restaurant, so pleased it wasn't raining.

"The staff here are simply superb."

We were after a one-night stay as we were walking Hadrian's Wall, and The Close Hotel delivered what we wanted as it was right on the trail. The accommodation is luxurious, the food great and the surroundings, being a golf course, are super pleasing to the eye. The staff are the main benefit to a stay here – super accommodating, friendly and eager to please. We were not disappointed in any way with our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and long to return.

"Fabulous place"

Helen on reception was fabulous, she is definitely in the right job and a credit to the team. Room was once again outstanding, breakfast and staff were really nice.
