A Sanctuary of Beauty, Heart, and Cretan Soul We came from Zurich — three family members (Agapios, Walter, and Susanna) — searching for light, stillness, and true Cretan hospitality. What we found at Théros Home was more than a place to stay. It was a feeling — one of warmth, intention, and soul. The home itself is a masterpiece: modern yet earthy, minimalist but full of emotion. Every detail — from the natural textures to the lighting — speaks of care and deep aesthetic sense. We felt held, relaxed, inspired. But what makes this place unforgettable is Kostas and Xenia — the kindest hosts one could wish for. Thoughtful, discreet, full of grace. They welcomed us like old friends, with generosity that felt timeless. And Angelina added a note of joy and laughter that made everything more human and real. Théros is more than a stay — it’s a philosophy. A home built on silence, sea air, and love. We left rested, grateful, and already longing to return.

No toilet on the top floor

The hosts and location were our favorite parts. The hosts couldn't have been more friendly or helpful during our stay. We even took a private tour with Costas, (the owner's father) around Chania to learn about the history and architecture of the area. It was fascinating and we learned so much.

The home is close to everything but just enough away to be away from the crowds. Angelina was very responsive to our questions and was a great hostess. Her parents live next door and were there if we needed anything and were very pleasant to speak with. This was a great place to stay and would go stay there again if we busy Chania again.

Really amazing location and house. Hosts were the sweetest and even helped us with our bags when we arrived late into town. Beautiful and clean and perfect for jet lag bc it was so dark and quiet even though it is in the center of the action and next to a tavern with live music. We stayed for five nights with our four year old and enjoyed the separate levels. I’d say it’s probably best for adults or children over five bc I was a little worried about the steep stairs but he did fine. Would definitely stay again!!

We had a wonderful stay at Theros House. The house is located at the heart of the old city of Chania, but the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring. The house is very well-maintained and clean, with all the amenities needed. Highly recommend from us.

Location. Aesthetic. Cozy. Convenient to restaurants and stores. Hospitality. Spacious.

WiFi was very slow or did not work. House was not cleaned for a whole week, bins were taken out twice but the space was not cleaned.

The location was perfect and Xenia (on behalf of Annita) and her father Kostas were really nice and welcoming. I recommend this place!

We had the most gracious hosts you will ever meet on your travels, I can guarantee you that! Xenia and her husband, Kostas, couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly. They helped make our 4 day stay in Chania flawless from start to finish. The home exceeded our every expectation as well and having such amazing hosts was an unexpected bonus we didn’t know we needed! Thank you so much again for adding to my family’s trip of a lifetime!
