Husly Reine - your home with Reinebringen view

You can truly feel the host’s love for this house. The facilities are well-equipped and of good brands, and the place is very clean. The host responds promptly and actively, making this a warm and home-like stay.

Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience during my stay. I rented an electric car, and the host mentioned that she would cover the parking fee. I started the charging process without making any payment, and both the host and I assumed that if no payment was made, the charging wouldn’t start. While I was inquiring about the charging station, the host mistakenly thought that I was asking her to pay for the charging fee and responded that she was only responsible for the parking fee. There was a misunderstanding in our communication, which was not very smooth. However, I believed our conversation was still based on mutual goodwill, as I didn’t want the host to end up paying for the charging fee along with the parking fee. Later, the host’s husband came to the house. I brought up my question again, but before I could fully explain, he loudly accused me of lying, saying that his wife was not that foolish. He then escalated the situation to a matter of nationality, claiming that Norwegians never lie and asking where we were from, among other remarks. We felt offended, as this was discrimination. My friend and I did not argue back; we just listened quietly while he gave his impassioned speech. In the end, he slammed the door forcefully and left. Afterward, my friend, who had been sleeping upstairs, came down to ask what had happened and mentioned feeling a bit scared. I believe the host should not have treated guests so impulsively. Before understanding the full situation, guests should not be lectured or scolded. I still tend to believe that the host’s husband is a good person but just had trouble controlling his emotions. I give the house a 10/10, but the guest service a 4/10.

The location is first class beautiful views of the mountains. The bedrooms were nice and cosy to come home to after a long day out.

The shower area. This we felt needs attention as it’s a lovely room and shower but the shower floor doesn’t drain properly and water went everywhere. Also with it being in the basement and down another flight of stairs it meant having to negotiate two flights of stairs if you needed the bathroom during the night, not recommended for older people or young children.

We loved that place, very clean and comfortable. You get everything you could possibly need. The location is also great, especially if you plan to do Reinebringen climb, it could not be more convenient.

We travelled as a family of four and stayed five nights. We felt like at home. The house is refurbished in a very nice way, with a lot of attention to details - creating a nice atmosphere and the energy in the house. And the story of the house itself is a great one itself. The equipment in the kitchen and in the house is of excellent quality. Especially the large bedroom has a fantastic view on the bay. The window bench in the living room was also a favourite. All communication with the hosts was great, fast, Marek provided also a lot of valuable information about the region, people and places to visit. Overall more than satisfied in all aspects.

3 levels of steep stairs and only one bathroom at lower level. Bedroom 2 stories up Kitchen amenities limited ie no coffee, tea, olive oil or basic staples

Marek was very friendly and helpful, and the home was beautifully renovated. Super comfortable and well equipped, and in a great location! Only a 10-15 mins walk to the base of the Reinebringen hike.

Great location. 2 min walk to “downtown” Reine. Old house with character and very nice remodel. Great view from deck and bedrooms. Nice kitchen amenities.

The living room furniture seats 4, but is not cozy—except for a sweet window seat. It did not bother us, but be aware that the large fancy new bathroom is two old flights below the bedroom and could a problem for those mobility issues.

The house was very well presented with great facilities in a great location. The hosts were very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed to make it a very enjoyable stay.

Having the bathroom down in the lower ground floor but it was not a major problem
