The room was adequate and comfy but passage was dark and noisy in the morning due to having all the supplies in the corridor.

On arrival we were told car park was full (wasn't) and had been closed by a temporary barrier. We parked directly outside in the pay and display which is fine over night but during the day we would need to return every few hours to buy another ticket, after receiving a penalty charge while we ate I took it upon myself to move barrier and park in the property's car park. Whilst notifying the staff and supplying our registration number for the A.N.P.R system was met with a little hostility and rudeness.

The room was nice

I got fined £100 for parking in their car park because they didn't take note of my registration plate. The pub was closed so I had no way to register at the bar. Instead I was greeted by a caretaker who did not mention anything about parking at all. They have ignored all my communications with them to try and resolve. I spoke to someone on the phone who said she was in Spain and couldn't help me, but I could email my details over. I sent them and was also ignored. Be warned that you will end up paying more for parking in the Hotel car park than you paid for your room.

The room was over priced for what I paid.

The room was fantastic and the pub in general was very nice.

We checked in and we were getting showered when there was a knock at the door. We didn't answer but then the person knocking just entered the room anyway so I had to shout for them to leave. Baffles me why you'd knock then enter regardless. Felt like a massive violation of privacy. The staff member explained they'd given us the wrong room but I don't understand how blindly entering was the solution to that.

Room was separate from main building and very well appointed

The location of the hotel was perfect for visiting the area as it is in the heart of Bakewell.

Breakfast was not available and the rooms were not made up daily both of which i was told stopped during Covid which I believe I should have been informed before booking and, is not stated on their website. In my opinion the price I paid was excessive as it was basically just for a bed which I had to make up myself each day.
