"A few improvements needed"

6.0

The bathrooms and bedrooms upstairs (except floors) were clean and serviceable. Lovely and big, and the beds were very comfortable with good quality bedding. Beware: The water pressure is insufficient for both showers to be used at the same time. No cobwebs or dust anywhere, which was great. The kitchen was clean, except for the coffee maker which was filthy. I left it lovely and clean. Loved the huge fridge freezer and the enormous dining table with comfy dining chairs. Excellent for family board games as well as meals. This is fortunate, as the sofa in the living room was too uncomfortable to use. It's dirty and stained, with no padding left - you feel the metal frame when sitting on it. Don't expect to watch the only TV in the living room unless you are ok with sitting on the floor as my kids did for a while but we preferred board games anyway. The WiFi signal is good in the living room and downstairs single bedroom. It's weak in most other rooms and could not connect in the kitchen or double bedroom which are furthest away from the living room. To be expected in a house this size. The walk to the seafront is short, and takes you past lots of handy shops but the area itself is not great. Huge crack in the living room window when we arrived, police incident outside the house the first night with flashing blue lights keeping kids awake, then some sort of fight outside the second night. On the third night the next door neighbours had a huge screaming row 10pm-10.30pm which woke the kids. I was lucky to get a parking space not too far down the street, as there's double yellows on many of the roads around the house and parking is competitive. Be prepared to reverse park on what can be quite a busy road. A few small improvements to the house could make all the difference. It's not terrible, and you get a lot of space for the money.

The biggest problem we had was the front door. No key or key safe, it's electronic. The code was changed on Sunday while we were out, without telling us a new one, and we were locked out of the house on return. Tried to use the code we had used since Friday and an alarm went off. Cue panic from the entire family! I called the owner and had to wait a good 10mins hanging on the phone while the code was reset before I could get back in. So I was most unhappy at standing on the doorstep surrounded by flies and unpleasant smells from the overflowing bins that we arrived to, in order to get a new code. The owner did say an offhand “oh, sorry about this” but I would have expected something a little more apologetic since I paid a lot of money for a house I was then locked out of - and after many hours on my feet was frustrated and unhappy and surrounded by 4 panicking kids. No explanation was provided as to why we had been locked out a day before we were due to leave, so I assume it was a human error when the code was set up. I cannot help but wonder what I would have done had the owner been indisposed when we returned. We then felt we could not leave the house again (as we had intended to later that day) in case we got locked out again and could not get back in, which spoiled the last day somewhat. The house was smelly on arrival and two huge bags of laundry sat in the hallway with a damp dirty tea towel on top. These bags also prevented us from using the coat pegs which was a shame (bags were too large to move elsewhere). We opened the back door and windows whilst in the house to alleviate the smell of damp/dirty mop. The floors were not very clean (mopped but obviously not well). Corners very grimy. Basically, the floors need a proper clean. Everyone took shoes off on arrival but socks were filthy and grimy by bedtime. The downstairs single bedroom smelled of cigarettes but could be due to the window being open and people smoking outside previously.

"Very Spacious Seaside House"

8.0

Very aptly named. The house is huge. Very well appointed with all the equipment you need for a stay. Spotlessly clean, too. Loads of space to spread out, my grandsons loved the glass table and bar stools in the kitchen.

Bathrooms were a little dated but served our purpose well enough. They were spotlessly clean and the showers worked perfectly,

"Poor"

3.0

The rooms were a nice size. The location was good for the train station and the shops.

The door code didn't always work. The window at the front was all cracked. There were no instructions for any of the appliances There was dog poo in the backyard. We didn't expect both bathrooms to be together in such a big house. The house is not really suitable for older people or children because of the height of the stairs and the position of the boiler in the shower room.

"Brilliant Stay in Cleethorpes."

10.0

Everything was brilliant. Nice, Clean, Everything you would need.

The door lock was a pain. Too many digits to remember. Car parking was very bad due to armed forces weekend.

"Big house, close to the beach."

4.0

Close to the beach, could take dogs.

Felt very spacious and airy, the fridge had a revolting smell which I had to clean before putting food in. The kitchen could do with updating. We didn’t stay at the property in the end.

"The main thing for me was the house was clean and comfortable and a good location."

9.0

The house was great for us as we were moving our son to Cleethorpes so it was just somewhere to stay while we moved him in. The location was great as it was just around the corner from his flat . Also a big tick was the fact I could bring my dog. This will definitely be on our list to stay when we come to visit him.

Didn't have any negatives.

The house was lovely and spacious and the beds were so comfortable. The owner was very helpful too. With 6 of us, the 2 bathrooms were a massive welcome bonus.

Nothing.
