Casa Mimina

The property was very minimalistic and spacious. In Forio near to everything, easy transport to different areas of Ischia. Lovely stay, we really enjoyed it. The owner/staff was very friendly as well. We definitely reccomend this property if you are staying in Ischia!

The location is perfection, though google maps was a little fussy about finding it and the host didn't elaborate on how to identify the tiny alley it's situated in. This means it's a very peaceful oasis in the bustling town though only a few steps from restaurants and shops and maybe 5 minutes walk to the port where you can access ferries and buses. The common courtyard is immaculately kept and very lovely. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotless with appropriate amenities including a mini fridge that actually worked beautifully (as did the AC). Our bathroom was private, but outside our unit. While not ideal in the middle of the night, it actually was a plus as none of the humidity from the bathrooom was felt in the room and it afforded a lot more privacy than the tiny sliding doors you often find for bathrooms in hotel rooms and apartments. There was absolutely no smell in the bathroom, but we are aware it can often happen with plumbing beyond the owner's control especially on an island, and the separate bathroom would be a lifesaver in that case. Mirella, the house manager, is a magician. We don't know how she gets everything done and leaves the place sparkling, but she tidies the rooms and property daily and she's lovely. (We normally keep our rooms tidy, but we had laundry spread everywhere trying to sort things due to luggage issues and Mirella was so unphased and unjudgmental. She offered to add to her workload and put washing in for us.) The apartment and bathroom are updated but in a classic manner that stays in style. It's uncluttered but reasonably cozy. They provide a well-designed guide to the area as well.

The wifi was not functional when we arrived. We had been robbed prior to arriving on the island and we explained to the host that my husband was unexpectedly taken to surgery in the US and that we desperately needed to contact the consulate and family, but he seemed truly unbothered by our distress. Despite responding to our initial messages and saying he'd reset it, he took 15 hours to respond with an update. We understand some things are out of the owner's control, but being ignored in that situation for an entire afternoon and evening to the following morning was stressful. The property is too expensive to not have promised amenities. He was helpful and responsive (though a bit brusque) about arranging laundry at the property but he waited til we set up a time and agreed to let us know it would be $15 for a very small load (washing only, drying on a rack). To wash two small carry-on bags of clothing would have cost us $45-$60, so we chose to have only necessities washed.

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und ordentlich, außerdem wurde jeden Morgen geputzt und sowohl die Wohnung als auch der Außenbereich aufgeräumt. Das Personal war immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir waren sehr zufrieden!

Das Bett war sehr weich und schon etwas durchgelegen.
