Cavan House

We loved this property, the location and house itself were just beautiful! We were met with the most thoughtful gift basket of local produce and yummy treats. The host was so responsive and kind. The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything you could need plus more! The hang out spaces were large enough for us all and very cosy. House, Garden, Grounds, Hot tub

The space, the character, quality of facilities are indeed superb - especially if you are looking for that feeling of retreat from the stresses of your daily life. It's a home for entertaining. It was a blessing to spend time at Cavan House. A great sense of peace fills that home & grounds. Lovely hosts. Each member of the group declared they will be back! So - thankyou very much Cavan House.

cavan house is the place that just keeps on giving. What an absolute stunning place inside and out and the attention to detail was second to none, right down to the hot water bottles to take out to sit round the hottub area at night. We went for a 50th girls get away and it was perfect. The supermarket is literally a mile from the house so we stocked up on everything and didn leave the house for the two days. The outdoor space made it feel like we were sitting in a court yard in Italy or Spain, with the rustic barn. Jill greeted us in arrival and was more than welcoming. As a wedding florist myself I will definitely be recommending this as a venue to bride and grooms also.

We booked as a large group family with 3 dogs of diff ages and sizes dogs could roam free and had to scape of 2 fields Jill was so lovely and accomadating

The location and the home were fabulous.

WiFi was slower than normal. Maybe due to bad weather signal was weaker

Beautiful stylish, very well equipped, comfortable, warm house, located in the beautiful Mourne Mountains. 20min drive from both Tollymore and Castlewellan parks and 25mins from Newcastle town.

House was a great size and had everything you would need in a home from home. Bed linen was clean and the house smelled fresh on arrival.

Even though the main areas had been cleaned, a lot of the house was dusty and full of cobwebs. The owner had not had time to finish the laundry so our towels were in the tumble dryer when we arrived. Some parts of the kitchen and the cupboards were sticky and I got the impression that the owner doesn’t have enough time between guests to do a deep clean. The hot tub was great but, despite following all instructions, we all developed hot tub folliculitis after leaving so more checks need to be made by the owner to ensure the hot tub is properly cleaned. Also, several things in the house did not work or were difficult to work - the TV had some unusual switch at the back to operate it, the wifi kept cutting in and out, and the oven in the utility area did not work.

The house was absolutely stunning with such character and charm but also had a lovely modern feel. Ideal for family getaways, with the stunning gardens and outdoor space, it is a kids paradise! The house was so child friendly with highchair and cot, and the tractor climbing frame/ slide in the barn was a BIG hit with our little boy! The main bathroom had the most amazing bath tub, my idea of 5 star luxury! And the outdoor hot tub, under a beautiful pergola which had bulb lights hung all the way around in a magical hidden part of the garden, was just the ultimate bonus! I loved everything about this house. Would highly, highly recommend Cavan House!
