Let me be very very clear about the below review. The location of this home stay is about 1hr 45min on avg by car from Kuta (including traffic). It’s a very beautiful setting in the midst of a valley. The rooms are spacious and the bed huge. Very clean premises and a cute dog on the property. The breakfast was amazing and the two women working there are friendly, polite and sweet. If you need a grab/gojek, it’s unlikely you will get one asap since it’s so far out from the main city, but that’s the beauty of staying here. I can’t tell you how beautiful this place is. Now, I came here for 3 nights with my Indonesian partner and the owners father made a comment on day one to my partner saying that ‘wow you’ve met a foreigner and it’s good for you’ she didn’t say anything back and ignored his comment. The next morning she went to the front of the homestay and the owners dad asked my partner ‘ how much is he paying you for the night’ citing she’s a prostitute. This really really angered me beyond belief. I confronted him and asked him why he said that, and he claims he doesn’t speak good English. But my partner speaks bahasa and he spoke to her in Bahasa. She felt very hurt, insulted and she cried a lot for something that was totally uncalled for. It was a shock to me since I’ve never experienced this in all my times visiting Indonesia. It was sad for our trip to end this way and we left the same day which was one day earlier than our scheduled check out date. He has no respect for women which is sad because the owner of this wonderful homestay is a woman and his daughter. I demanded I speak to her and she seemed very shocked and in disbelief when I told her what her father did/said. She apologised many times to my partner and me and I could tell she was in shock. She told us to not pay for anything because she felt very bad as to what happened and also offered to pay for our taxi back to Kuta.

I stayed with my husband for 3 nights at Ritual, and we were very happy. The view and the genuine friendliness of the owners and staff are priceless. The round shape of the bungalow with thatched roof is really nice. The breakfast was great. All in all, it was a great value for money, even for locals like us.

This is one of the most beautiful places I ever stayed in. The view is just breathtaking. The house is stylish and comfortable. And how about the outdoor bath? We loved it. The breakfast is really good. So peaceful and quiet place. 10 of 10!

very nice view and nice area next to the houses

There are no windows in the small houses, it is very uncomfortable. I did not understand from the photos that there are none at all 😐 inconvenient parking and entry for a car. Do not fill the bath completely with hot water.Food don't like

But unfortunately there are also some unpleasant things: slippery and dangerous paths to the accommodation, the bathroom is completely under water after using the toilet and showering, overpriced food and services (massage), even after being told three times they just grinned and nothing was changed. Unfortunately, the saying "no money, no honey" also applies here. Unfortunately no recommendation - there are better places to stay.
