Spotlessly clean and tidy. High quality furniture and fittings. Both bedrooms ensuite. Beautiful south facing aspect with fabulous view from the front of the property. Warm and cosy. Great walking country.

The location on the map provided is frankly wrong. The back of the property is right up against the road from Hartington to Hulme End. Which wasn't busy in January but might be at other times of year. The entrance drive is NOT the one shown on the map. The 'Welcome Team' phone went to ansaphone when we rang to get directions which wasn't useful.

"Lovely cottage with excellent view"

9.0

There was everything we needed and the view was fantastic. Having 2 bathrooms and a downstairs loo was great.

The glass recycling hadn't been collected, so there was little space for ours.

"Relaxing break with lovely views 😊"

10.0

Very clean, well equipped kitchen, spacious living/dining/kitchen area but felt homely too. Good size main bedroom and en-suite shower. We liked the beautiful views and the quaint walled front garden. Nice touch adding a lovely flower arrangement in dining area. Perfect place to stay to feel rural yet in easy reach to visit Chatsworth, Heights of Abraham, Bakewell and other pretty places in the Peaks. Hartington is a quaint village a couple of minutes drive away. We didn’t walk on the roads as traffic travels quite fast so we used the car.

It would have been good to have a nice small table and chairs on front patio area to enjoy sitting out. We did use the two wooden benches but these were very old, weathered and quite rough to touch.

"Pretty but very remote - take your own MILK!"

6.0

Lovely cottage, well appointed and well furnished. Very clean.

The cottage is very remote and there was no milk left at the property. We arrived later than planned due to a puncture (the roads in are terrible and full of potholes) so we were unable to go to the village store - we therefore had no food, milk, eggs etc in the property. Most other places I have booked at least provide a basic welcome of milk as a minimum. Luckily the farmer next door loaned us a cup of milk till the next day. ALSO and with more impact the details say SOFA BED - we were three single females so planned to use the two bedrooms and the sofabed - both of the sofas are SOFAS and we could see no way to make them into a sofa bed - one colleague ended up just sleeping on sofa like a student - I have a screen shot saying 2 bedroom cottage 1 x double 1 x twin 1 x sofabed but this is inaccurate - it wont let me upload the screen shot unfortunately.

Beautiful scenery. The walking followed by hot bath, good kitchen to cook dinner and range of channels to then watch a film. Spacious living area Ordered steaks from the farm which were delivered and delicious. Very quiet and relaxing stay.

Be aware that the walk to village is along the side of the road for part of the way.
