Rumah Riang

When we first arrived, the entrance looked a little different from the photos online, but the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed into a beautiful home. Everything you could possibly need is there. The living room is spacious, with a lovely covered terrace and a wonderful swimming pool to relax by. The bedrooms are also large and equipped with good air conditioning — perfect after a warm day exploring. But the most special thing about Rumah Riang is without a doubt the incredible hospitality of Putu, Ria, and their family. From the very beginning, they made us feel completely at home. Although there’s a well-equipped kitchen, Ria prepares the most delicious Balinese meals — both lunch and dinner. She’s a fantastic cook, and nothing is ever too much for them. Every meal was different and full of authentic local flavors and made with so much love and care. During our stay, we also joined The Mayong Cultural Walk, which is an absolute must-do! Putu takes you on a fascinating journey through the rice fields of the Mayong Valley, passionately explaining everything that grows there — not just rice, but also durian, palm trees, and the intricate irrigation systems that make Balinese agriculture so special. His deep knowledge of plants, farming, and local culture is impressive, and the way he shares it — full of humor, energy, and great storytelling — makes the walk both fun and educational. He also loves to connect local words and traditions to other languages and cultures, which we Dutch visitors found especially engaging! After the walk, we were treated to another delicious homemade lunch prepared by Ria — authentic Balinese flavors at their very best. We stayed at Rumah Riang for two nights and got a beautiful glimpse into the life of a local Balinese family — full of kindness, warmth, and hospitality. It’s an experience we will never forget.

Rumah Riang es mucho más que un alojamiento: ha sido una experiencia increíble. Putu y Ria son unos anfitriones excepcionales. Atentos, generosos, siempre dispuestos a compartir su cultura y ayudarte o darte consejo. Su familia también nos acogió con calidez: cada día nos prepararon desayunos y comidas caseras y con autentico sabor Indonesio. Uno momento muy especial fue el paseo con Putu por los arrozales. Disfrutamos de paisajes espectaculares, siempre hay tiempo para una foto de postal, :) y aprendimos sobre los árboles, las plantas medicinales, las creencias y la espiritualidad balinesa. También las conversaciones con Ria que es una anfitriona genial y una gran persona. Para mí que soy una persona con poca espiritualidad, fue una experiencia increíble. Por supuesto, sus hijos y sobrinas siempre dispuestas a ayudar y que estuvieron compartiendo tiempo de juego con mi hija. Nos hemos sentido como en familia. Finalmente, la ubicación es perfecta para explorar el norte de Bali: cerca de la Playa de Lovina, con sus delfines, las cascadas de Munduk, con sus vistas y templos impresionantes como Brahmavihara-Arama. Ideal para quienes buscan tranquilidad, conexión con la naturaleza y cultura de auténtica de Bali. O simplemente huyen de los turistas. Recomiendo Rumah Riang con todo el corazón. Es un lugar que ha dejado huella en nosotros para siempre y al que uno se vá con sentimiento de querer volver.

Tener que irme. Salir de casa de Putu y Ria después de 5 días, es como mudarse lejos de la familia.

Putu und Ria und ihre Familie sind so nette Menschen, die uns in ihre Familie aufgenommen haben. Putus Cultural Walk ist toll gemacht und man kann schöne Bilder fast allein in den Reisfeldern machen. Die Villa ist sehr sauber und äußerst ruhig und es gibt alles, was man benötigt. Von Babybett und Babystuhl über Mikrowelle bis hin zur Waschmaschine. Toll ist auch der Heiß- und Kaltwasserspender in der Küche. Ria und ihr Sohn verköstigten uns unseren gesamten Aufenthalt und Ria und ihre Tochter spielten gerne mit unserer kleinen Tochter. Der Pool ist klein und erfrischend. Putu fuhr uns auch zum Supermarkt, organisierte einen Fahrer und machte Vorschläge für Ausflüge in der Umgebung. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert, wir kommen irgendwann wieder!

Für uns war es wundervoll so abgeschieden unter Balinesen zu sein! Leider ging das WLAN nur auf der Terrasse und im Schlafzimmer und das dann auch nicht besonders gut. Das war für uns ein wenig störend. Der Fernseher daher auch nur Deko. :)

Un accueil comme à la maison. La gentillesse et l’hospitalité de Putu et Ria. Très bon emplacement pour rayonner autour de Munduk. Les sites principaux sont accessibles et on est également à moins de 20 minutes de la plage. Superbe vue depuis la maison.

Une immersion dans la vie d'une famille chaleureuse et accueillante. La cuisine exceptionnelle de Ria, une vue imprenable sur la jungle. Putu est aux petits soins pour arranger les excursions et activités. Nous avons adoré assister à un cours de danse au village, découvrir une plage authentique et visiter les rizières. Le logement est vraiment isolé mais nos hôtes pourvoient à tous nos besoins.

La maison est superbe et une vue exceptionnelle sur la végétation de Bali. On serait bien resté quelques jours de plus 😊 Les hôtes sont d une gentillesse incroyable. Que dire de plus, notre meilleur logement dans le nord de Bali sans hésitation
