ALTO Beyond

Beautiful boutique hotel, comfortable and clean, relaxing ambience with superb attention from Claire the host.

I usually do not write extended reviews about the places I stay around the world, but I’ll make an exception for ALTO BEYOND. I travelled with my girlfriend and we were looking for a relaxing place to stay. Well, ALTO BEYOND is a gem in Gozo island, managed by Claire, who is able to do anything, from delicious breakfasts to professional massages. But above all, she has built a place where you can find perfection in terms of Hospitality. I rarely found something like that around the world, an old (and fantastic) concept of “home-stay” during holidays. Location? Super. Not for everyone, however: if you like crowd, tourists everywhere, that may be not the place for you. Arrivederci, Claire!

We spent a wonderful week at ALTO Beyond with Claire and her team. Claire was an exceptional host who offered us a very personal experience catering to all of our needs and sharing her local knowledge which was priceless! The property was extremely comfortable and impeccably clean. Her staff were kind and attentive without being intrusive and her breakfasts were truly AMAZING! Claire really has created a small oasis of peace and relaxation where you could lose yourself for days!

We couldn’t find anything to fault

We had the pleasure of staying at this little hidden oasis. From the minute you entered you felt truly welcomed and taken care of. You can see that Claire prides herself on detail and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. We were lucky enough to have the choice of two beautiful rooms and were treated to afternoon tea and a bottle of bubbles on our arrival. Claire was also able to set up a Massage appointment with the highly recommendable Krzysztof in her wellness room. When it comes to breakfast your expectations will be blown away. It is prepared in the morning using local products and according to your wishes and tastes (we were even asked in a short survey before our arrival what our dream breakfast etc. would include). The house and grounds are beautiful and you could easily spend the day relaxing by the pool or playing a game of tennis. If you are wanting to get out and explore the Island of Gozo, Claire can provide you with all the insider knowledge as well as great restaurant recommendations. Claire, we can’t thank you enough and look very much forward to returning to your beautiful property.

Nothing, but we were quite busy exploring the Island of Gozo and unfortunately didn't dedicate enough time to relax at this oasis. Make sure you plan in enough time to just enjoy the place and the great service too :)

Alto Beyond is one of the last truly hidden gems which you only tell your really best friends. Claire and her stuff did an outstanding performance of what you could think of and beyond. If you stay with them all of what you need is taken care of. It’s better than a 6 or 7 star hotel. Hope to see you soon and all the best. Feli and Niklas

The environment created by Claire is indeed unique and offers exceptional quality with her faultless attention to detail for her guests comfort and enjoyment. Breakfast, without time constraint, offered variety quality and if required personalised preferences were attended to with a choice of location from the cool shaded courtyard to the tree lined the secluded gardens. The patio and pool area were meticulously maintained where one could choose to relax either in sun or shade in quiet comfort further enhanced by the variety of refreshments and tasty nibbles offered daily by Clare and her attentive team. Bedroom large comfortable and quiet fully equipped including air conditioning. Lounge areas similarly attended to in quality with personalised detail. The treatment room and treatments that we did avail of are of excellent standard. A definite must return for us.

There was nothing that we could find fault with or did not enjoy within this exceptional property.

We had a wonderful stay at this gem of a Retreat property. All areas have been very tastefully finished and furnished to a luxury standard. You can spend days there without feeling the need to venture outside! Claire is an excellent host - friendly, attentive and dedicated. Her food and drink treats are a continuous surprise, not to mention the different breakfast every morning, the first surprise of each day.

We have had an amazing time at Alto Beyond. With Claire as host, everything was taken care of. From specific breakfast wishes to reservations for special non touristic places on Gozo. Highly recommended for a relaxing, luxurious break. We hope to come back soon!

Where to start ? If you are still hesitating to book a room in this establishment, go for it immediately. Your expectations will not even be up to the quality that you will find at Claire! We spent four nights at Alto. And we were like on honeymoon. Staying at Claire's is like staying with a friend, who will take care of you without being intrusive. It's enjoying a beautiful swimming pool while drinking a delicious cocktail prepared to the minute according to your taste. Breakfasts prepared in the morning with your favorite products. Claire works with these two adorable sons, who also take great care of you. You will also find her three dogs, so cute! Claire listens, takes the time to advise you according to your preferences and the tone you want to give to your vacation. Once you enter this magnificent house you will never want to leave it! Obviously everything is absolutely spotless, clean and the house smells very good all the time! Claire manages everything, she's an incredible woman! We highly recommend this wonderful place! Go there, you may not come back!! What is certain is that we are already thinking of going back there next year. Just one word: bravo !
