Luxury Barn near Wells - Pool, Gym

This property was so well equipped for our weekend stay. All the essentials were there from a salad spinner, foil, kitchen cleaning equipment to toothbrush chargers.

Everything was great

Lovely little cottage. Sam was brilliant in sharing all the information well ahead of time and staying in regular contact with any queries. As the name suggests it is the old Piggery so as expected it's a little tucked away cottage within the converted farm complex. Inside it was spotlessly clean and was extremely well equipped (particularly the kitchen) which made it feel like a real home away from home. The shared facilities of the tennis court, gym, pool and steam room were much enjoyed and it is a lovely experience having it to yourself. Everything was in brilliant condition. Particularly enjoyed the views across the fields to the Cathedral when coming in and out. Visiting in November we didn't get much of an opportunity for being outside and going on walks but there looked to be a lot of options when it was less wet!

The benefit of having the gym/pool/steam room to ourselves was huge. Felt like a private space. I think it is worth flagging that this works on a booking system so you have one hour a day in the pool or gym plus last minute bookings on top. For us this wasn't an issue but I can imagine in peak times it could be something to keep in mind. Ditto lots of rules about using the facilities, but for us absolutely not an issue - they are all for use unsupervised and these rules means everything is in brilliant condition and clean for use. As a minor down side, unfortunately the sauna wasn't working when we were there but the steam room made up for it!

Wow what can I say, this beautiful property was the most perfect getaway for myself and my friend for a 3 night stay for some R&R. It’s incredibly clean, modern and beautiful with so much space, cosy lounge, huge comfortable beds and lovely high ceilings. There is everything you would need and more across the kitchen, and the bathroom is very lovely with a big bath and great shower. We made use of the gym and swimming pool and gorgeous library area - what a great perk to the stay, all really clean and perfectly kept. The location was great, local walks and we had day trips to Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge, everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We ate at The Lion in West Pennard (15 minute drive) and the food (roast dinner) was probably one of the best we’d ever had with the nicest staff, so friendly and accommodating. The host for the property, Sam, was so helpful, really caring and attentive to all my (many) questions and nothing was too small for her to help with. Hands down one of the best hosts I’ve dealt with over the years of long weekends away. 10/10 with everything, it really couldn’t have been any better! We’ll be back again and already looking to re-book! Thankyou x PS - We are totally shocked to see a recent negative review and glad that didn’t put us off. The thought, care and attention with the whole process, the host, property, condition and facilities is utterly seamless.

Nothing, everything was brilliant!

We loved our stay at the Piggery. The property was beautifully presented and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s an easy drive to Wells and Glastonbury and if you choose to stay in the local area there are some lovely walks you could enjoy. The spa and library facilities were lovely and though it was quite wet during our stay we enjoyed the garden and outdoor areas of the estate. The hosts provided thorough instructions and were helpful throughout our stay.

The only noticeable minor inconvenience was that for a group of 5 of us there was not enough seating space in the lounge area. We made good use of the dining area though. Another thing to note is that flooding can occur (in winter months) in some of the access roads leading to the property. The owners provided helpful instructions on finding alternative routes but perhaps something to bear in mind and plan ahead as we did worry at one point that we might get stranded in our little Honda jazz.

This property was clean, well looked after and very pleasant to stay at. Its location was good for visiting Longleat (our main reason to visit Somerset). Convenient to nip into Wells. Facilities were excellent. Communication was brilliant and well organised.

The property was excellent.

Nothing : hugely overpriced, over- commercialized property. I had to leave; and I booked property twice as cheaper, 3 times bigger, luxury, private with very nice caring professional hosts. Even though, I did not stay on a property, as I booked, owners attempted to blame me for minor wear and tear they have encountered.

I am professional full time traveler, nomad, and luxury property owner and professional property manager/ real estate industry professional with 30 years experience. I have never been treated so poorly and with such disrespect anywhere in a world through my 10 years full fund travel. Property I rented was dark, small, no privacy, very basic, uncomfortable and owners treated me with such disrespect, I have never experienced it in my entire life, o am 50 years old. They have no experience on hospitality, and their personal perception of life is very limited to money 💰 grabbing resources and taking advantage of people approach. Nothing else they care about.

From the instructions to find the place to the clever pig themed items. Everything was perfect. The kitchen has better equipment than most homes. The bedrooms were lovely. Views amazing. The swimming pool and spa area was super clean. Overall really enjoyed it. Really close to Wells also.
