Moxy Columbia Downtown

I thought the eclectic and untraditional concept of the hotel was a cool aesthetic. It was unique and interesting. The staff was welcoming and professional. The view was probably the best anyone could have in Columbia. Our window (room) was directly in front of the capital building which had a beautiful overlook of it. Although a minor detail, I liked that one of the amenities in the bathroom was makeup wipes. I always forget to bring them on my trips and not many hotels automatically provide them.

The check-in at the bar was different. I just didn't like it. It felt weird. The hallways and the rooms had a musty smell (I believe the building itself is fairly old though). I was also very caught off guard by how small the room was. The pictures made it appear bigger. I was there for business so it was fine for a night or two and especially the price. However, if I was staying for more than a few nights or had come for pleasure, I would have been very displeased and would have probably checked-out.
