Chez Meriem

Where to start? We loved Chez Meriem!!! We stayed 3 nights and so wished it could have been longer The owner.Yusef....a gentle, intelligent man, was caring but unobtrusive. No hard sell for camping, camel treks or quad biking. He absolutely understood our desire to just walk, observe and enjoy the area. A simple, but plentiful, beakfast was served every morning, at a time of our choosing...6am on the morning we left to catch an early bus! We tried to say this was unnecessary....but Yusef insisted. Our room was large, clean and comfortable and, not that it really matters, the bedcovers and curtains co-ordinated...pleasing my artistic soul 😊 Lovely fresh towels too. Although shared, the cleanest loos we've had in Morocco...and plentiful hot water for showering. We are planning to return...inshallah. Not for you though if you want noise and parties. A wonderful place for quiet contemplation and to be left alone...in a very caring way 😊 Thankyou so very much Yusef! Ooh...one more thing. No WiFi when we were there ....not a problem for us....local restaurants have WiFi, but Yusef said he would install, possibly April.

Nothing....absolutely nothing! A tip though. It's a little difficult to find and shares a compound with Camping Africa...but well worth the hunt. ...

The location and friendliness

Direct at the dunes. Clean room, very comfortable matress. Room is simple. Awesome value. Very nice owner. Shared bathroom with hot shower.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at an auberge located at the foot of sand dunes, and it was an experience I'll never forget. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The auberge itself was charming and rustic, with simple but comfortable accommodations that blended in perfectly with the desert environment. My room was cozy and clean, with a comfortable bed. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the sand dunes themselves. The auberge's location at the foot of the dunes made it incredibly easy to explore them, and I spent hours wandering through the sandy landscape, marveling at the changing colors and textures as the sun moved across the sky. In the evening, I returned to the auberge for a delicious dinner of local specialties, including fresh grilled chicken and savory stews. The atmosphere was relaxed and convivial, with other guests swapping stories and sharing travel tips. As the night wore on, I retired to my comfortable room and drifted off to sleep, lulled by the sound of the desert breeze outside. In the morning, I awoke refreshed and ready for another day of exploration. Overall, I would highly recommend this auberge to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable desert experience. The combination of stunning natural beauty, rustic charm, and warm hospitality made for a truly special stay.
