Casa tipica di montagna, accogliente e con tutto il necessario, immersa nella natura. Ilaria ci ha fornito tutte le informazioni necessarie per gestire al meglio l'appartamento. Le montagne attorno sono spettacolari. Ottimo punto di partenza per escursioni.

PARCHEGGIO: Bisogna per forza parcheggiare sulla strada. Per noi era un problema perchè avevamo un finestrino che era rotto (era facile entrare nell'auto). Abbiamo scritto ai gestori per chiedere se fosse possibile parcheggiare la macchina nel vialetto interno o cortile, che - di giorno erano completamente liberi. Ci è stato risposto che non potevamo farlo perchè i vicini si sarebbero lamentati. Abbiamo pensato "Adesso che è giorno non c'è nessuno ma magari questi vicini che hanno bisogno di parcheggiare rientreranno stasera, dopo l'orario lavorativo". Invece niente, il vialetto e il cortile sono rimasti praticamente deserti anche in serata, quindi avremmo potuto parcheggiare senza dare fastidio a nessuno. MORALE: se per voi non è un problema parcheggiare per strada, la struttura vale la pena. Se questo è un problema, tenetene conto al momento della scelta dell'alloggio.

Very tight with fold out bed. There’s really not much there, but it’s a nice escape from everything if that’s what you’re after.

The kitchen wasn't very well equipped - e.g, there was no kettle for heating water, and there was only one large saucepan, which we had to use to boil water for tea and coffee. Poor communication from the owner. The day before we arrived, Ilaria messaged me on Booking.com to say she had to use WhatsApp to send me all the instructions about how to get in, and so on, including videos. I had put a temporary Italian SIM card in my phone and it wasn't working with WhatsApp, so I asked her to use email, SMS, phone or Booking.com messaging instead, but she said she couldn’t. I managed to configure WhatsApp to work on my phone, and she was able to send me the instructional videos successfully. However, spending my time troubleshooting technology with poor Wifi and cell service was a bit anxiety-inducing. I called Booking.com, whose agent told me that hosts should not insist on guests downloading information from third party apps like WhatsApp. We were there from June 7 -9, and it was unseasonably cold. Ilaria said the heating couldn't be turned on at that time of year, but we could make a wood fire in the fireplace if we wanted to. We didn't want to do that, so we were pretty cold, particularly in the bedroom, and had to wear multiple layers when we were in the apartment. We put all the covers on the bed that we could find - an extra blanket and a duvet. The fuse blew one evening, probably due to the electric stovetop and the water heater being on simultaneously, which was mentioned in the instructions as a possibility. All the lights went out, so we called Ilaria and she told us on the phone how to go outside with a flashlight, round the building, and into the basement to switch the breaker on again. The Booking.com description says, "Staff speak English, Spanish, French and Italian at the reception." However, there is no reception. In June, when we were there, Frontignano was almost completely deserted.
